We were loaned a 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco to test drive for a week. All opinions are my own.
If you’re following me on social media, then you might have noticed the sporty new car we’ve been driving around in. A new 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco was dropped off for us to enjoy over the next week and we’ve been busy sharing our adventures on social media. For a compact car, I was really blown away with the features, space and smooth ride on this car. Right away I was thrilled with the body. It has a sporty look to it making it a great car for both guys and gals.
My love of cars started early. I’ve had a thing for sports cars from the minute I could drive but now that I have a family, they’re not as practical for me as they once were. One of the things I love most about test driving a wide range of vehicles is that they’re all so different. These are vehicles I normally wouldn’t have a chance to drive and experience and by doing so I’m finding out more and more great things about some of today’s vehicles. I normally wouldn’t think twice about a compact car for my family but now that I’ve had a chance to drive one, they’re definitely not too small at all.
It’s definitely much smaller than my SUV but we still had plenty of room and if I needed a compact for space and budget concerns, then the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco would be a great vehicle. Here are some of things I loved most:
ROOMY INTERIOR – Space is a must for my family. My husband and I are both tall so fitting comfortably in a compact car is a key feature for us. Then there’s the toddler and tween who take up the back. Even with her rear-facing car seat both of the kids sat comfortably in the back with plenty of room to pick up a friend. Up front, both my husband and I fit comfortably. We didn’t have to keep our knees bent to fit in the seat and had plenty of room.
FUEL EFFICIENT – With an estimated fuel cost of $900 a year (that’s about $17 a week), this is a great option for those families looking for an economical and fuel efficient vehicle. We drove the car all over for the week we had it and were left with 1/4 tank of gas. If that was my SUV, I would have had to fill it up at least once.
SAFETY – Safety on the road is so important and today’s vehicles are equipped with some great features to help keep us even safer. Once of the feaurtes I loved on this Hyundai Elantra Eco was the Blind Spot Detection w/ Rear Cross-traffic Alert & Lane Change Assist. I am a huge fan of this feature and love that it’s offered as a standard feature of the 2017 model.
The 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco offers:
MPG: 32 city / 40 highway
MSRP: From $20,650
Horsepower: 128 hp
Engine: 1.4 L 4-cylinder
