We try to go out to eat at least once a month and when I say out to eat, I mean actually go to a restaurant and sit down for a meal. I’m not talking a quick trip through drive-thru but a more family friendly night out. We all take turns picking out our favorite restaurant or what type of food we’re in the mood for and we’ll plan a family date. One restaurant that constantly makes all of our lists is Bahama Breeze. There is something for everyone in my family on the menu and they’re always changing things up with seasonal menu offerings that can’t be missed. So when we were invited out to check out their latest – Reggae Fest, I knew we had to go.
Through August 13th you can stop by your local Bahama Breeze to experience Reggae Fest for yourself. There’s special drinks and menu offerings, live music on the weekends and so much more. We visited the Cherry Hill, New Jersey location for an afternoon of deliciousness. If you follow me on social media, you probably already saw some of the deliciousness I was sharing while we were there.
It was a gorgeous day outside so we sat on the patio to enjoy our meal. While we looked over the menu and tried to decide on what we wanted to eat, I started off with one of there special drinks specifically for Reggae Fest – the One Love cocktail. The drink, made with Malibu Banana Rum, pineapple, orange and guava juice and topped off with an Appleton Rum floater, was the perfect way to kick off my meal. It was delicious, not too sweet but just right and the perfect combinations of flavors.
I was excited to try some of the special menu options specifically for this party so we started off with the Taste of Jamaica. This appetizer was huge and fed all of us with plenty left over. It was loaded with pulled pork, jerk chicken (my favorite), beef empanada, callaloo, sweet plantains, yellow rice and black beans. Everything was so full of flavor and just the right amount of kick.
My husband, is a seafood fantastic so he picked the Firecracker Shrimp, off the regular menu, as his starter. This. was. delicious. Perfectly sized shrimp in a crunchy coating with a kick and served with a side of sriacha mayo for dipping. I could literally eat this everyday.
I went with the Jerk Chicken Sandwich for my dinner. It had just the right amount of kick combined with juicy, white meat chicken topped with a pepper jack cheese. I try to make sure we try different things whenever we go and this was a first for me and it did not disappoint. I’m actually eating the other half (it was huge) as I type this.
My husband, naturally went with seafood and tried these delicious Jumbo Stuffed Crab Shells. Delicious lump crab meat stuffed in crab shells. Jumbo lump crabmeat, sweet peppers and scallions gently stuffed into three crab back shells. Served with yellow rice, green beans and a light citrus cream sauce. I didn’t even get a chance to try it, he ate it so quick.
As usual Bahama Breeze didn’t disappoint and while there regular menu items are always available, Reggae Fest is only here until August 13th. So if you’re looking for a delicious place to go unwind for a delicious dinner, check out everything Bahama Breeze has to offer.
