A few months ago, we were driving in North Jersey and drove by this cool restaurant called Quaker Steak & Lube. From the outside, it looked like a auto garage. Somewhere you’d take your car to get worked on with several garage bays and some old fashioned gas pumps. Being the car lovers we are, my husband and I looked at each other and said at the same time “we need to eat here”. Fast forward to yesterday. We were invited out to check out this same restaurant and their new #BluesAndRockMenu….
This post is in partnership with Hershey, PA. All opinions are my own. Thank you Hershey for hosting my family.
One of my favorite things about our visit to Hershey, PA was all the delicious food we had a chance to try out. It’s no secret I love trying out new places to eat and Hershey did not disappoint. I try to encourage myself to step out of my comfort zone to try something new or something I wouldn’t ordinarily try, each time we visit a new restaurant. This trip gave me plenty of opportunities to do just that. The food was amazing and there wasn’t one thing we didn’t love, the kids included. While there is no shortage of places to eat in the area, on this trip we dined at Trevi and Harvest at The Hotel Hershey and for lunch we headed over to Houlihan’s on our way to The Hershey Museum….
We try to schedule a night out to eat at least once or twice a month. School, work and everything else seem to get in the way more often than not so it’s nice to be able to get out together with just my husband or together as a family. Since my husband and I both love seafood, it’s not uncommon for us visit Bonefish Grill on those nights out. I mean who can really resist their Bang Bang Shrimp? That seriously may be my favorite appetizer ever. Last week we were invited out toe our local Bonefish Grill in Marlton, New Jersey to taste some of their new menu items for October….
We try to go out to eat at least once a month and when I say out to eat, I mean actually go to a restaurant and sit down for a meal. I’m not talking a quick trip through drive-thru but a more family friendly night out. We all take turns picking out our favorite restaurant or what type of food we’re in the mood for and we’ll plan a family date. One restaurant that constantly makes all of our lists is Bahama Breeze. There is something for everyone in my family on the menu and they’re always changing things up with seasonal menu offerings that can’t be missed. So when we were invited out to check out their latest – Reggae Fest, I knew we had to go. …
While in Baltimore last week we had a chance to eat at some of the location restaurants that we don’t have here in New Jersey. When we were planning out our trip, I wanted to make sure we tried some new foods and restaurants while we were in the area. Since my husband and I love seafood, I knew one restaurant we just had to eat at was Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Yes, the Bubba Gump from the movie Forrest Gump. We’ve never eaten here before but I’ve heard great things about it and their menu so we were thrilled to be invited out to check out their menu and some of their delicious dinner options. …
Bahama Breeze Island Grille has been on my list of restaurants to try for quite some time. I remember the first time I saw one of the restaurants when we were shopping at a mall well over an hour a way from us. We caught a glimpse of the outside and it looked like such a fun place to eat. I told myself the next time we planned a trip up to the mall, we’d would stop in for a visit. I’m sure you can guess how well that turned out. When I learned that one was opening up in the Princeton Marketfair in Princeton, New Jersey, I was thrilled. We’re always in the area and I knew we’d had to make plans to get in there to try it out. So I was pretty excited when Bahama Breeze invited me in to try out their new Viva La ‘Rita menu offerings. If you follow me on social media, you probably saw some of the goodness I was sharing yesterday while we were there. Today I wanted to share all of the yummy food we had a chance to try!
My immediate impression was a great one. The restaurant was spotless, beautifully decorated and every single host and hostess we saw were extremely nice. Everyone greeted us like we were an old friend and that speaks a lot about a restaurant. I’ve been in some where I’ve been made to feel like I’m bothering them by just walking in. Not at Bahama Breeze. Everyone, from the greeter to the management, was amazing.
We started off with a sampling off their new margarita menu – the Three Little Ritas. It includes 3 mini versions of their new margaritas – Grilled Pineapple, Hibiscus and Key Lime Pie. They were almost to pretty to drink – almost! The toughest part was figuring out which one to try first.
I’m a pink gal so I started with Hibiscus. Made with Sauza Silver, hibiscus and sugarcane juice, this was hands down my favorite of the three. It was a tough choice because they were all amazing, but if I had to pick one, this would be it.
Since I love pineapple, I moved onto the Grilled Pineapple next. It’s made with Reposado, charred pineapple puree and sugarcane juice with notes of almond, ginger cloves and lime. I loved the hint of charred pineapple against the sweetness of the drink. It made for a perfect combination.
Last but certainly not least was the Key Lime Pie which tasted just like the perfect piece of pie only kickier.
Now let’s talk about the food shall we? I mean that is the reason most of us eat out to begin with. I have to start with my favorite dish right now. Firecracker Shrimp. I’m sitting here typing this and drooling over the pictures. I scanned right by this on the menu. It was until our awesome server suggested we try it did I give it a second thought.
Boy am I glad I did. It. was. amazing. That’s all I can say about it. I was prepared to fight my husband for the last piece. Thankfully he’s a gentleman and let me stuff it in my mouth without saying a word. It was so good, I may be heading back this weekend for a to-go box or two of these. You’re next visit give these babies a try. You won’t be disappointed.
We also had an assortment of appetizers that were all equally delicious. I have to give a special mention to the Chicken Empanadas. I have yet to find a restaurant (commercial or family owned) that can make empanadas better than mine. I think I found them at Bahama Breeze.
Crispy, flaky and full of delicious chicken goodness. I could eat these as a meal by themselves.
For my main course I wanted to try something off the seasonal menu and went with the Sautéed Tilapia. It was served with rice and mashed potatoes for a perfect dinner combination.
My husband chose the Mahi Mahi with a mango salsa topped with lump crab meat. For the sake of writing this, I had to try some of it. I’d be lying if I didn’t say it was even better than mine.
They had a great selection of kids choices and my son went with the burgers and fresh fruit.
Overall I can’t say enough great things about Bahama Breeze Island Grille. It’s been awhile that I’ve been to a restaurant where everything exceeded my expectations. In fact I can’t wait to go back and try their regular menu. It was really hard to decide on what to order because everything sounded so mouthwatering.
I’ve already told my husband this is where I want to go for my birthday dinner in May. Although I really don’t think I can wait that long to go back. Don’t worry I’ll share all the other amazing dishes I try on my next trip. But for now, be sure to check out all of the “Margarita Mondays” specials going on now – April 10th. Try one (or all six) of their new margaritas, $20 pitchers and more!
If you visit the Princeton Marketfair location be sure to tell the manager Dawn sent you! If you’re heading out to eat this weekend, check out your local Bahama Breeze. You won’t be disappointed!
Disclosure: We were invited to enjoy a complementary dinner at Bahama Breeze. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.
After appetizers, we ordered our salads. I went with a Caesar Salad while my husband opted for their seasonal Beet Salad. I loved the caesar. The dressing was great and while I didn’t try the Beet Salad myself (not a fan of beets), my husband really enjoyed it.
For our entrees, we were able to try Salmon with a mango salsa, Mahi Mahi, Sea Bass and shrimp and scallops. When they brought out the entrees, I was wasn’t sure what I was going to try. When it comes to fish, I typically stick with shrimp and tilapia. I’m not very adventurous with seafood. After some gentle nudging from my husband, I tried everything but the salmon and I’m so glad I did. The seafood was amazing. Mahi Mahi may even be my new favorite fish, as long as it’s from Bonefish Grill.
There is even a nice outdoor patio to eat at once the weather gets a little nicer. I can’t wait to take my son back and enjoy a nice outdoor lunch. I can say that Bonefish Grill is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the service was superior. Everyone we met that evening from the greeter to the manager was incredibly helpful, especially our waiter. Everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home and explain all the restaurant had to offer.
They even serve brunch! I can’t wait to go back and try them out for brunch. If it’s anything like the dinner offerings, I’m in for a treat!
Have you ever eaten at Bonefish Grill? What’s your favorite item on the menu?
My husband loves seafood so anytime we can experience a new seafood restaurant he is all for it. We recently had the opportunity to try out Bonefish Grill in Marlton, New Jersey. We drove by it many times and always said we would love to try out their menu. When we finally did, it did not disappoint.
Upon arrival we were greeted and seated immediately. The vibe was relaxing and the staff was super friendly. Our waiter came to take our orders and brought us out this delicious fresh baked bread with pesto dipping sauce. The bread and sauce was delicious. The sauce was the best I’ve tasted in awhile and the bread was so fresh and soft it practically melted in our mouths. My son even asked for seconds of the bread.
For our dinner, my hubby ordered the Longfin Tilapia Imperial. The tilapia was stuffed with shrimp, scallops and crabmeat topped with gruyere and parmesan cheese and lemon caper butter. At first I thought the portion size was a little small for him, but I was wrong. It was very filling and delicious. He said it was the perfect size. For his side, he choose fresh tomatoes in a balsamic dressing.
