Wow, Xfinity has a lot more to offer families than I knew! A big thanks to them for partnering with me to bring you this post. #XfinityMoms
Last week I was invited out to my local Comcast Xfinity store to check out their new look and learn a little about their Xfinity X1 and Xfinity Home services. Since I’m not currently a customer and am underwhelmed with my current service, I knew this was the perfect chance to learn a little more about the company and see if it would be a good fit for my family. The first thing I noticed upon arriving was the ultra-modern and inviting store front. It’s a far cry from the Comcast I remember when I was younger. This is a state of the art store filled with knowledgeable staff ready to help you the minute you walk in. As we waited for the rest of the bloggers to arrive, I had a chance to walk around and check out the different areas and speak with some of the staff. All of them where extremely knowledgeable about the services offered and spent plenty of time answering my questions.
The layout of the store was definitely customer focused and had plenty of room and seating in case of any wait times. All the equipmentment and programming offered by Comcast Xfinity can be tried out on the spot with the added benefit of having someone knowledgeable in the services right there to walk you through your questions or give you a hands-on demo. As someone who is completely unfamiliar with everything Xfinity has to offer, I really like having the ability to try out all of the features as they were explaining them to me. It’s one thing to read about how something works or have someone on the phone try to sell you on something but when you’re actually able to try it out, in person, it makes a huge difference.
Our presentation started off with Comcast addressing some of the issues they’ve had in the past with customer service and so on and how they are striving for a better experience for their customers. As a non-customer, I really liked that they’re acknowledging the areas that “need improvement” and are working hard to make it a better experience overall for their customers. They hear you and are listening and that says a lot about a company.
Xfinity X1 offers so much to really take you entertainment to the next level. For the sports fan, there’s the ability to search all the baseball, football, soccer games and even Nascar races with the click of the button. Having two sports fans at home I know this is a feature they’d love. No more wondering what games are coming on tv. There’s even a Kids Zone that can be set so once it’s on, the kids can’t exit out of it without a password, accidentally finding their way to programming they shouldn’t be watching. You can even search for shows by your favorite actor and even get a list of all the movies he/she are in just by typing their name.
Not to mention the ability to change the channel with the sound of your voice. Yup! You can change the channels, search for movies and more all by talking to your voice-enabled remote.
In addition to learning about Xfinity X1, we also were shown some Xfinity Home offers. They offer 24/7 video monitoring, You can check in on the kids, your pets and even control electronics like your slow cooker all from an app on your phone. You can even set it up to receive notifications when your front door opens. I thought that was a great feature especially if you have older kids who get home from school before you do. You’ll know exactly when they arrived home.
Then there’s the apps. Xfinity offers quite a few free apps with some fun features. Like the Xfinity TV app. You can stream live TV at home or even watch your DVR library anywhere and anytime, even on the go. I personally loved this feature. We’re always on the go and I really like having the ability to put on the kids favorite tv shows on their tablets when we’re in the car or anywhere for that matter.
I was really impressed with everything Comcast Xfinity showed us and now that my contract is up with my current provider, I’m really looking into switching. Before I go, I have a special giveaway to share with you!
You could win a Nest Learning Thermostat! I won one from the event and can’t wait to use it. The Nest Learning Thermostat can be controlled right from your smartphone (and you don’t have to be a Comcast customer to use it). To enter, just follow the prompts on the giveaway tool below:
