Everything You Need to Know When Staying at The Hershey Lodge

Looking for the perfect place to stay when visiting Hershey Park? Let me introduce you to The Hershey Lodge, the perfect place for families.
Hershey Lodge

Whenever I start planning a trip one of the first things I look at is where we are going to stay. I’m traveling with a toddler and a tween so there are certain things I look for in a hotel to make sure it’s a comfortable stay. Some of the things I look for a the room size, amenities, are there restaurant options on site or do we have to drive for food. These are all important to make the most of our trip. When we decided to visit Hershey, PA for a little pre-holiday getaway I started researching all the different hotel options available to us. While there is no shortage of hotels in the area, staying at an official resort of Hersheypark was top on my list. Our pick for our first stay in Hershey was The Hershey Lodge and it was the perfect choice.

Hershey Lodge

Only a short two hour drive from New Jersey, The Hershey Lodge is the perfect place for families looking to get away. There are 665 guests rooms located at The Hershey Lodge. It’s one of 3 official resorts of Hersheypark along with The Hotel Hershey and Hersheypark Camping Resort.

As soon as we pulled into the parking lot, we were mesmerized with not only how big the hotel was but how beautiful as well. The grounds are meticulously kept and during the holidays are decorated so pretty. Everywhere we looked there were beautiful decorations adorning the walls and railings.

It was hard not to get into the Christmas Spirit while staying here and it’s even harder not to feel at home at The Hershey Lodge. All throughout our stay, the one thing both my husband and I commented about was how relaxed and at home we felt. We didn’t feel like we were at a hotel. It felt more like we were visiting family.

Check in was super easy and as an added treat we were all given delicious Hershey Chocolate Bars are check in. Talk about the perfect start to our mini getaway.

There’s even a Kids Check-In area that I thought was a great touch. While my youngest was too young to do it herself, her older brother had no problem signing both their names into the guestbook. Once their names are signed in the book, they’re given a cute Hershey Lodge lanyard with their name on the back, some coloring sheets and crayons an even a miniature piece of candy for them to enjoy. They both LOVED this and so did I. I thought it was a cute touch and it made them both even more excited for their trip to start!

As we walked to the elevator to head up to our room, I was mesmerized by the giant fireplace in the middle of the lobby. It looked so cozy and the perfect spot to relax and unwind. It made for a great spot to enjoy our breakfast the next morning.

Our room was in a nice, quiet spot of the hotel right outside of the elevator which made it easy for us to get around with the little one.

We had the guestroom with 2 queen beds and had plenty of space for all of us. The beds were really comfortable and one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a hotel.

The subtle chocolate touches throughout the room were one of my favorite parts. From the little Hershey’s Kisses embossed onto the comforters to the Hershey Kisses wallpaper in the bathroom. These cute little touches complimented the room perfectly. After all it is Hershey, PA, the sweetest place on earth. We turned it into a little scavenger hunt to see what else we could find.

HERSHEY’S WATER WORKS AT HERSEY LODGE

I’ve followed the construction and opening of this fun waterpark online and this was one part of the trip we were really looking forward to. I made my husband pull out our swimsuits out of storage in the attic and were ready to spend plenty of time at the pool. Sadly, we never made it. We were so busy exploring everything else that we didn’t even get a minute to go swimming much to the dismay of the kids. But that didn’t stop us from venturing down there to check it out.

It’s as amazing in person as it is online and we’re already planning a trip back to experience it first hand. There is  30,000 square feet of splashing good times with the famous  Twizzlers Twists water slides and Reese’s Water Walk. There’s even interactive water features like their zero entry pool, sand castle spray zone, lighthouse tipping bucket, basketball hoops, and much more!

DINING IN HERSHEY LODGE

One of things I liked most about the hotel was the variety of dining options all in one place. You’ll find the following restaurants right on-site:

  • Hershey Grill
  • The Forebay
  • The Bears’ Den
  • Lebbie Lebkicher’s
  • Cocoa Cabana
  • Cocoa Beanery

Hershey Lodge

On this trip, we had breakfast at the Cocoa Beanery both days. The chocolate croissant is a must try when you go! It’s the perfect spot to grab a coffee and pastry to enjoy by the fire.

Hershey Lodge

No matter what time of year you plan on visiting, The Hershey Lodge is a great choice for families of any size. The accommodations are top notch and you truly feel at home. We cannot wait to head back there this summer for more Hershey Park fun!
