Yesterday morning I spent some time at the Just Between Friends Lower Bucks consignment sale. My pre-sale pass got me in early to shop some of the best deals. While I’ve sold at consignment sales in the past, I haven’t had the opportunity to actually shop one until yesterday. Before I got there I knew two things. I knew there would be TONS of stuff and I knew I’d get overwhelmed quickly if I didn’t have a game plan. I sat down and made a list of some things I was specifically looking for and hopping to find. If I didn’t I would just grab anything I thought was a great deal whether I truly needed it or not.
As soon as I walked in, I knew I was right. There was so many great things for sale. I’m excited to show you some of the great deals I saw, the great deals I bought and my biggest take away.
MY SHOPPING HAUL
I found some great deals on things I needed and a few I couldn’t pass up. On Monday we bought a new car. We were NOT planning on this at all but we stopped in for a look at a vehicle my husband and I have been talking about. One thing led to another and I quickly negotiated a deal that was too good to pass up. Right after we bought it we headed to Babies “R” Us to purchase one of those mats for under the car seat to protect the seats. They were pretty pricey (about $39.99) so I wanted to come back with my coupon. Instead I found a BRAND NEW one from Diono, the same brand as her new car seat for only $7!! It retails for $34.99 so that was a great deal! I also found a Diono Angle Adjuster (also brand new) for the car seat and it was only $5! I was thrilled.
While browsing the toys, I found another brand new item. I’ve had my eye on this Fisher-Price Laugh ‘n Learn Sis’ Smart Stages Purse and for only $8.50, I couldn’t pass it up. This retails for around $20 so that’s another great deal. Then I found this adorable Mega Blocks Princess Carriage for only $4. My little one plays with her Mega Blocks every day so I knew she’d love this! I love what I found and I’m heading back this weekend to look for even more deals!
But there’s so much more just waiting to be shopped. Things like:
If you need a holiday dress or outfit for your little one that they may only wear once, this is the way to go. Just take a look at some of the cute dresses I found while I was browsing the clothes.
DRESS UP & HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
Having a little girl at home who loves to dress up, I know how quickly prices can add up for costumes or dress for dress up. Instead of buying new, this is great way to save some money. The JBF Lower Bucks sale has tons of great costumes (and not just princess gowns either). Most of the ones I looked at were under $10 and some as low as $4 and they were in great condition. I especially loved these two. These two were gorgeous in person.
STROLLERS AND CAR SEATS
There are tons of strollers and car seats for sale. I even saw a double stroller for only $15! I’m regretting not buying it now. I didn’t think about it at the time but it would have been perfect for my little one and my nephew. They’re only a couple of months apart and when we go out they always want to be together. Buying this would have made trips to the park and theme parks so much more fun for them since they could sit together.
There is tons of baby gear. Everything you could need for infants through toddlers is for sale. Bottles, walkers, baby carriers, high chairs and so much more!
CONSIGNMENT SALE TIP
My biggest tip is to shop early and go in with a plan. There’s bound to be others shopping looking for deals just like you. I missed a GREAT deal and I’m still bothered by it. I planned on getting there right when they opened as I had my eye on something they posted on their Facebook page (see why following JBF on social media is important?) but we were running a little late. I’ve been looking for a cute little climber for the kids to play with and this looked like exactly what I was looking for.
Instead of going right to this item, I took my time and wondered around. When I finally got to it, I took one look at it and the price (only $30!) and knew I wanted it but I kept shopping. While I was doing that, someone else can in and bought the playset. If you pay for a larger item, they’ll hold it for you and that’s exactly what happened. By the time I got to the register to buy it and put it on hold, it was already sold. They JUST sold it only a few minutes before me! So DON’T WAIT if there’s something you have your eye on!
While I’m bummed I missed out on that cute playset I’m still thrilled with everything I did get and I can’t wait to go back and see what else I can find!
Take a look at the Just Between Friends Lower Bucks sale schedule, grab your ticket and go find some great deals! You don’t want to miss the fun this weekend either. They’ll be trick or treating and character visits.
Do you have any tips for shopping consignment sales? I’d love to hear them!
