Thanks to DriveShop for loaning us the Mazda CX-9 for our stay in Orlando.
Before we kicked off all the fun that the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration was about to bring, we wanted to head into town a little early to get settled and try to relax a bit before our schedules we kicked into high gear. Disney packs a lot into this event and with the combination of a land and sea event this year, I knew things we going to get hectic – in a good way. Our plan was to spend a few days in Orlando before the conference but alas my husband’s schedule only allowed us to arrive the day before and instead we extended our trip for a few days after the cruise. With this extra time in Orlando, I knew I wanted to have a vehicle so we could get around outside of the transportation the Disney resorts offered. When we arrived at the hotel to check in, we were greeted by our new wheels for the week – a flashy Mazda CX-9.
One quick drive around to our hotel building and we knew we were going to love this Mazda. With features like predictive i-ACTIV AWD ( an all-wheel-drive system that monitors changing road conditions and adjusts power),
The interior offers plenty of room for the whole family with 3 rows of seating. The back row easily folds for more storage space which we definitely put to use on this trip. The front seat was comfortable from both driving and in the passengers seat. The kids had plenty of room in the backseat to rest comfortably any where we went. The interior on this model was simply gorgeous.
The EPA estimates 22 mpg city and 28 mpg highway for front-drive models.
I travel heavy. Even more so now with the fourth, and littlest, addition to our family. So this 3 row crossover SUV was just what we needed to get us through the trip. The third row seats easily folded down to store all of our stuff. The trunk space definitely came in handy. With 4 suitcases, my camera bag, numerous bags from shopping and the baby’s stroller. We were set on space.
The Mazda CX-9 has a starting price around $31,500 and depending on the options you want could end up costing closer to $45,000 (price of the vehicle we test drove). Which is still pretty great for all this vehicle offers.
We really enjoyed our time in the Mazda CX-9 and wish we had a little more time to drive it. We found ourselves looking for reasons to run a quick errand after our day at the park just to take it for a ride. I loved it because it had all the space I’ve quickly become accustomed to in our large SUV at home but I didn’t feel like it was too big for me to drive (which is how I sometimes feel with my current SUV). I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a family crossover SUV.
Have you driven the Mazda CX-9 before? What did you love? What did you not? Tell me about it!
