This is a sponsored post on behalf of The Mills at Jersey Gardens. All opinions are my own.
When it comes time for clothes shopping for my family, it usually involves a trip to the mall and at least four other stores to get everything we need. With my tween wearing men’s sizes now, gone are the days I could hit one store and get clothes for the both of the kids. One of my favorite malls to shop at here in New Jersey is The Mills at Jersey Gardens. My sister-in-law first introduced me to the mall a few years ago and I was hooked. I can shop all our favorite stores in one location without having to drive all over visiting different stores. Since the mall is about a 40 minute ride from my house, I usually plan on making a day of it. We’ll usually head up early in the day, stay for lunch and usually finish shopping in the afternoon. It’s a pretty big mall so, I have a few tips to make your next trip to the mall as smooth as possible.
One of the reason I love shopping at The Mills at Jersey Gardens is the outlet stores. As the largest outlet mall in New Jersey, there are over 200 stores all in one location which makes shopping easier in my opinion. No more having to run all over town to different stores. Over the years I’ve picked up some great deals at some of my favorite stores like Neiman Marcus Last Call, Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and Marshalls. Not to mention the Nike Outlet for my son and husband and my favorites for the little one like The Children’s Place and Gymboree. Since most of these stores are outlets there are some really great deals to be had.
In fact, I did most of my fall shopping for both of the kids and my husband even picked up a few things. All in one day. I seen plenty of things I loved for myself and am heading back in a few weeks for a girls only shopping trip. Make sure you stay tuned on social media as I’ll be sharing all my fabulous finds for fall.
MAKE A PLAN
I knew before we went that I needed to get both of the kids new clothes for fall. With both of them growing so much, hardly anything fits this year. They needed jeans, pants, shirts, sweatshirts and more. I went online and made a list of the stores that were a “must do” and anything else I spotted on the way would be a bonus.
TAKE A BREAK AND REFUEL
Whether your traveling with your family like I was or a few girlfriends, make sure you take a break to grab something to eat or drink. The food court at The Mills as Jersey Gardens is huge and there are plenty of options for everyone. There is even a Johnny Rockets in there so that’s where we headed for lunch.
VISIT A NEW STORE OR TWO
There were a few stores that I didn’t even think about before visiting and we ended up finding some great deals in them.
CHECK OUT COUPONS
Before your start shopping, swing by the customer service desk and grab a map (definitely comes in handy no matter how many times you’ve been there), and check for specials. There were coupons for different stores laying at the desk so I grabbed a few. There is even a coupon book you can purchase for $5 to save even more off of the already great prices. Inquire about any special promotions going on while your there.
Throughout September (9/3 – 9/30) you can shop the For the Love of Shoes sale. Shop and try on the shoes of the season with special offers from participating retailers. Learn more about the For the Love of Shoes sale here.
Speaking of shoes, we did plenty of shoe shopping while we there. We found so many great deals in all the latest styles.
Looking for sneakers? At the Nike Outlet and FootAction both my husband and son were able to find exactly what they were looking for.
I found plenty of cute shoes for my little one. And even a few pairs for me. Hello matching Uggs for me and my daughter! Cute and definitely practical for fall.
MIX AND MATCH
While shopping, try to buy pieces that can be mixed and matched with things you already have a home or with other pieces you’re buying. This way you can double your outfits instead of just wearing it once.
That was a common rule I stuck with when shopping for my daughter. I tried to find pieces that she would be able to wear with jeans or a skirts in the same patterns and colors.
She loves tutus and glitter so a lot of the pieces I picked up for her incorporated that in some way or another.
Now that my son is officially a “tween” his style consists of jeans, sneakers and comfy t-shirts from Nike.
The Nike Outlet had plenty of great deals for him. Some of the shirts were only $4! Talk about a deal!
Speaking of deals. Everything I bought was on sale and most as much as 50% off! There’s something to be said for being able to get as much shopping done as I did. We arrived to the mall around 11 on a Saturday morning and by 3 we were done. Fall wardrobes updated and just about everything checked off my list, even shoes. Usually it would take me 2 malls, 3 different stores and a shoe store visit to accomplish everything I did in one trip to The Mills at Jersey Gardens.
