Babies go through a lot of stuff. And they do it quickly. Every day is a new growth spurt, new milestone, and a new adventure. Whenever any of my mom friends come to me for advice on registering for baby my number one item I tell them is diapers and plenty of them. When I was pregnant with my son, I was adamant about being prepared and started buying diapers everything month until I built up a nice collection at home. At the time I had no clue how quick babies grew and ended up with way too many newborn diapers. Second baby I was much smarter and I registered for, and bought, all different sizes to have as the baby grew. Diapers are the one thing you truly can never have enough of. So whenever one of my friends is expecting, my go-to baby shower gift is diapers and wipes but I like to make it fancy.
Instead of just giving a box of diapers and wipes, I like to take it up a notch and make them a cute diaper gift basket full of stuff they can use for baby.
One of my friends is expecting a baby girl this fall and I knew exactly what I was going to get – Huggies® diapers and wipes. After all they’re the brand I use on my own daughter.
Huggies® has been my go-to brand with both of my kids and they’re the brand I trust to keep them dry and happy and over the years. Since becoming a mom, I’ve bought a lot of diapers. To get the most bang for my buck, I always shop Sam’s Club for all my diapering needs.
When joining Sam’s Club you’ll get $45 in Instant Savings when you buy any three participating Huggies® products. That’s a huge deal and I’ve been sending all my mom friends in to sign up! Signing up is simple too. You can join online or in-club by printing out this offer page.
You’ll even get a $5 e-gift card when you join online. Follow these 3 easy steps to get this deal:
- Join Sam’s Club (you have to sign up through this link to get the $45 credit)
- Buy any 3 participating Huggies® products.
- Get $45 instantly loaded onto your new Sam’s Club Membership Card.
Saving money is a great reason to shop Sam’s Club but their Scan and Go service is really what hooked me.
My toddler is at the age where she’s little miss independent. She wants to walk everywhere, see and touch everything and basically just do what she wants to do. That makes shopping trips a little tricky. Especially when she spots the candy section or the toy aisle. Then forget it. All bets are off and the shopping trip goes downhill really quick.
On the off chance I can get her to sit in the cart, I know I need to get in, get my things and get out before she pulls her stealth moves and figures out how to get out of that belt on the cart. The last thing I have time to wait in is a line but with Sam’s Club Scan and Go service, I just download the app to my phone, scan the items right from my phone as I shop then boom, checkout all from my phone. No lines. No waiting. Best of all, no toddler meltdowns.
I just show my phone with the paid receipt to the attendant at the door and I’m out before she knows we’re done. Whoever invented the Sam’s Club Scan and Go app must have a toddler like mine at home. It’s a lifesaver for busy moms like me.
Once I picked up my diapers and wipes from Sam’s Club, I started on the gift basket. Here’s what you’ll need for this project:
- Huggies® diapers
- Huggies® wipes
- fabric basket or bin
- ribbon (4-5) colors
- 2 wooden dowels painted white
- baby accessories like a baby blanket, diaper caddy, socks (whatever you want here. Get creative)
Step 1: Open the box of Huggies® diapers and cut the packages in half to fit in the basket.
Step 2: Stuff packs of Huggies® wipes on the sides. Repeat layers until you reach the top of basket.
Step 3: Stuff some diapers and a pack wipes in the diaper caddy and used tape to secure it to the top pack of wipes. Repeat with the blanket and other accessories.
Step 4: Place one wooden dowel on each side of the basket.
Step 5: Make the ribbon banner. Since my friend is having a girl I went with pink but you could use any color you wanted to fit the theme, etc. Take one piece of ribbon about 24 inches in length.
Then cut pieces of all the other colors about 7 inches in length. Once the ribbon is cut, begin tying them onto the 24 in. piece.
Tie in a knot to secure it. Once you’ve covered the entire piece. Tie each end onto one of the dowels.
Now you have the perfect baby shower, new baby gift any new mom would love!
