With summer finally here we’ve been busy enjoying moments together as a family. From day trips to area theme parks and museums to weekend getaways, we’re making memories this summer. Just last weekend we took a little getaway. We did a little fishing, spent time exploring the local parks and just relaxed and had fun. Before we head out on any road trip, I make sure our bags are packed and loaded in, snacks and entertainment for both kids are loaded in the car. All these road trips, big and small, mean lots of time spent on the road and keeping my little one safe and comfortable is a top priority. She’s outgrown her infant seat and it was time to update her to a convertible car seat and I was thrilled to partner with Recaro again to check out their Recaro Roadster Car Seat.
Safety is a top priority when it comes to protecting my precious cargo. That’s one of the reasons I love the Recaro brand so much. The comfort and quality is unsurpassed and it really shows with the design and features in the car seats. The racing-inspired side impact protection is tested to meet and exceed all industry standards for safety.
Car rides are not my little one’s favorite thing. She’d rather be up and running around than strapped in her seat. Previous road trips have sometimes been a little difficult since she clearly was not happy in her seat. After spending the last two weeks driving around in her new Recaro Roadster, I can proudly say she is happily enjoying our little road trips now. That has everything to do with how comfortable her seat is. Made with cloud comfort memory foam, the seat is designed to be comfortable.
As soon as the seat arrived, I took it out of the box and sat it on the floor to show her. I wanted her to get used to it before I put it in the car. She immediately climbed in and sat down and tried to put the straps on. This mama was shocked. I strapped her in and asked her if she liked her new seat and to my amazement she said yes!
So we wasted no time and went right out to install the seat in my truck. I moved my old seat into my husband’s truck since she’s really not in that one as much as mine but I have a feeling I’ll be buying another Recaro seat soon for his truck since she doesn’t want to ride in her old seat at all!
Installation was super easy. We installed this seat rear-facing and the first thing I noticed was how much higher up she is sitting now. The higher side walls took me a minute to get used to in the truck since it was a little more difficult to get her in, but I love the extra safety it provides for her. I’d rather have her fully protected all around than worry about putting her in easy. The racing-inspired side impact protection is tested to meet and exceed all industry standards for safety.
I think my personal favorite feature for convenience alone is this adjust knob on the side of the seat. With just a simple turn of this knob, I can adjust the no re-thread harness and headrest. It’s really just as easy as a turn of as knob.
She happily gets in her seat now and most rides, she ends up falling asleep right in the seat. We’ve had the chance to put it to use on 3 trips over with one having us spending over 2 hours in the car each way. I knew that would be the true test for us. Sure enough on both legs of that trip, and the few other trips we set out on, she’s fallen asleep comfortably. When she’s not asleep, she happily played and enjoyed looking out the window.
I can’t say enough good things about the Recaro Roadster but I’m not surprised. We loved our Recaro Performance Denali system and was sad to see her outgrow it and overall I love the brand. With just a touch of the seat, you can feel the comfort from the cloud comfort memory foam. The twist resistant HERO Harness Pads are made from a soft material and they actually stay put. Her last seat they always moved and the straps would irritate her neck. These haven’t bothered her one bit.
