I was invited to the TravelingMom Lunch & Learn Hosted at the Hilton Short Hills. All opinions are my own.
If you’re looking for a fun place to get away with the family for a little staycation right here in New Jersey, let me introduce you to beautiful Short Hills. Located in Essex County, Short Hills is just a short drive from the New York City area and within an hour or two car ride from other parts of the state. After spending the day with the Traveling Mom team for the Travel and Tech Event at the Short Hills Hilton, I’m ready to go back for a weekend getaway. With so much to do, Short Hills, New Jersey is a great spot to stay, shop and play.
WHERE TO STAY
If you’re looking for a place to stay. look no further than the Short Hills Hilton. Right next to the Short Hills Mall, this prime location is a great place to kick off your shoes and relax after a long day shopping or exploring.
We had a tour of the hotel during the event and I loved what I saw. The rooms are spacious and full of amenities families will love.
Parking is always free and there is a stunning indoor pool inside the spa (kids can swim at certain times) and an equally gorgeous pool outside to enjoy these warm summer days.
If you’re looking for a place to hold a formal event, the Pavilion which is only a year old will make for a beautiful event space. It seats 120 people or can be used for a cocktail hour space for the ballroom events, which can hold up t0 400 people.
We had a chance to sample some of the delicious menu offerings and were treated to a cooking demonstration by one of the hotel’s chefs while be made the special Avocado Cornbread with Seared Scallops topped with Peach BBQ Sauce.
It was divine and the rest of lunch was equally amazing.
The hotel is undergoing a makeover as well and we had a sneak peek of the new rooms and they are gorgeous! The Makeover should be completed early 2018.
SHOP THE MALL AT SHORT HILLS
Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway with your girlfriends or just a staycation with the family, a visit to The Mall at Short Hills is a must do experience itself. We heard from some of the brands like Henri Bendel, Anne Taylor Loft and The Walking Company on summer travel trends.
Henri Bendel, a leading luxury handbag designer was on hand to showcase some of their gorgeous pieces perfect for travel all year long. I was a little obsessed with this matching backpack and rolling luggage. It would be perfect for all my summer road trips.
This gorgeous hot pink wallet is a traveling mama’s dream come true. It’s exactly what I needed for summer travel. It holds all my cards, paperwork and even my phone perfectly all while looking stylish.
Ann Taylor was on hand to showcase some of the gorgeous looks for summer.
These rose gold aviator sunglasses had my name all over them.
