Last week Xfinity invited a group of the Philly Social Media Moms out to the 2017 Philadelphia Magazine Design Home in Wynnewood, PA to get a first hand look at how they are making it easier then ever to stay connected and the changes they are making for an easier user experience. The event was held at the 2017 Philadelphia Magazine Design Home in Wynnewood, PA and it was stunning. With an asking price of over 4 million dollars to better have been. While the house was amazing (just take a look at some of these photos), what really had me excited was some of the things I learned and that are coming soon with Comcast Xfinity.
I was literally drooling over the closet.
Aside from an amazing master bedroom & closet like this one, an amazing kitchen is another way to my heart.
While the house was gorgeous, what I really wanted to hear was what was new with Comcast Xfinity. It’s been almost a year since we switched my home phone, internet and television service over to Xfinity and it was seriously one of the best decision we ever made.
As happy as I am with the service, I quickly learned that I haven’t even begun to use the service to it’s full potential.
One thing I did learn was that I haven’t even begun to use the platform to it’s full potential. There are so many reasons why Xfinity just works for us but sitting down and learning what it can truly do, opened up so many more.
Xfinity Home services provide piece of mind security for the whole family. Xfinity Home offers 24/7 home security that you can monitor from just about anywhere.
- The ability to pull up your home cameras and watch what’s going on at home to check on the kids or even your pets right from the app.
- You can lock your front door right from the app or even your remote
- Sensors can be used on windows and even on cabinets/doors. It’s a great way to keep kids out of certain things. If the door is open an alert is sent to let you know exactly when and where.
- Water monitoring
- Remote thermostat control allows you to set or change the temperature from bed (if you’re too cold) or even before you get home.
X1 is Comcast’s easiest way to access all your entertainment in one place.
The Kids Zone is one of my favorite features on the whole platform. With two kids at home it’s a safe spot where I don’t have to worry about what they’re watching. Everything is free so no surprise ordering of shows by my two year old. Shuffle play is great for when I’m working with my oldest on an assignment. Shuffle play will automatically play episodes so I don’t have to stop to put on a new one each time.
Then there’s Netflix. I can enjoy Netflix now that it’s completely integrated into the X1 Platform. I signed up through my tv and it was super easy. Now we can easily watch our favorite shows on Netflix right through the X1 platform with a steady connection.
Then there’s the voice remote. With the press of a button, my remote can tell me the weather, answer questions, find my favorite show and so much more. I can even troubleshoot any issues with a few simply commands.

On Monday, Comcast launched Xfinity xFi, a new and personalized Wi-Fi experience that provides a simple digital dashboard for customers to set up their home Wi-Fi network, find their password, see what devices are connected, troubleshoot issues, set parental controls and even pause Wi-Fi access on their home network during dinner or bedtime. xFi gives customers unprecedented visibility and control over one of the most important technologies in their home.
The xFi experience can be controlled via a mobile app, website and on the TV with the X1 voice remote.
