Thank you Mitsubishi for loaning us the 2017 Lancer for our trip.
Everyone thought I was crazy planning a little getaway just a few days before Christmas. Truthfully, as the trip arrived I began to think the same thing. When I booked it, I thought I’d be ahead on my shopping, wrapping and all the other things I had to get done before the holidays. Well that plan did not work out and not only was I not ahead, I was actually behind in everything even packing for the trip. I scrambled the night before packing and when I finally got that done, I sat down and thought to myself “what were you thinking”. The next morning I was still scrambling when there was a knock at the door. They were dropping off our new car for the trip – a new 2017 Mitsubishi Lancer. Once I saw the car, I immediately headed out to check it out and started to relax a bit.
We loaded up our stuff in the extra roomy trunk and we were off to spend the next three days in beautiful Hershey, PA. We made the little over 2 hour journey to Hershey, PA in comfort. For the last two years, I’ve been elusively driving SUV’s and I’ve become used to the space and used to driving big trucks. Trust me, it’s a bit of an adjustment when you go from only driving a car you entire life to a big SUV. So I really enjoy it when I get to test drive all these different vehicles. I like seeing which ones can truly fit our family of four comfortably and which ones can’t.
Surprisingly we had plenty of room in the Mitsubishi Lancer. It was comfortable to drive and comfortable to sit in as a passenger, even with the rear-facing car seat in the back. Being on the tall side, that’s one of my biggest issues right now and the Lancer held us all perfectly with plenty of room.
We spent a lot of time in the car while we were there from not only the drive there but driving around town and through Hershey Sweet Lights, the two mile long holiday light show. It was chilly at night and those heated seats really came in handy that night. In my opinion, heated seats are a must in any car.
With other features like AWD, a rear back up camera and so much more, this compact car really surprised me.
We enjoyed our trip and when it was all said and done, I couldn’t have been happier that we went when we did. I just love this photo from The Hershey Gardens with the roller coasters of Hersheypark in the background. It was just the little break we need to unwind and create unforgettable family memories.
One of my favorite features was the SEL Sun and Sound Package. The package includes a power sunroof and a 710w Rockford Fosgate® Premium Sound System with 9 speakers. It was a nice little system to enjoy listening to my music.
