Big news out of Walt Disney World and the Disney Parks Blog today, Orange Bird has officially been announced as the 2018 Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Halloween Party Card. This limited edition party card is given out during the Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party when it returns to the Magic Kingdom on Friday, August 17. Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom fans can pick up this event-exclusive game card inspired by none other than the adorable Orange Bird with their ticket to this special event!

So how did Orange Bird become the 2018 Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Halloween Party Card?

According to the Disney Parks Blog, Merlin met Orange Bird on one of his walks through Adventureland and fell in love with Orange Bird just like the rest of us. He went on to create a brand new spell in the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Game in his honor.

On his very own “Orange Bird’s Juice-o-Lanterns” spell card, Orange Bird celebrates Halloween by creating “Juice-o-Lanterns,” drawing funny faces on the oranges that grow near the Sunshine Tree. Isn’t this the cutest card?!

I love Orange Bird and am so excited to see him get his very own card this year.

If you’re wondering what exactly the 2018 Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Halloween Party Card card is, it’s part of the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game, an in-park interactive quest that allows guests of all ages to join Merlin’s mission to stop Disney Villains from taking over the Magic Kingdom.

Firehouse at Disney's Magic KingdomGuests can visit the Firehouse on Main Street, U.S.A. where you’ll be given a map showcasing all the magic stops in the game as well as a pack of spell cards to use while you play. Once you’re equipped with your spell cards, the real fun beings.

You’ll search for villain hideouts throughout the park, and visit magic portals where you’ll these spell cards to stop a villain’s plan.

During special events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, special events cards will be given out in addition to the regular Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom cards. In order to get your special card, you’ll need your party ticket and event wristband in order to get one.
