From about 8 months old, my son loved construction trucks. He’d squeal every time we were in the car and a dump truck would drive by. If we ever happened upon a construction site and he saw it, we’d have to pull over just so he could watch the trucks work. His second birthday was construction themed and he had every construction truck imaginable to play with. I even had to suffer through endless hours of watching those construction site dvds you can pick up in stores. He’d watch them over and over and over. I learned plenty of things that I never needed to know about a dump truck and still have some of those silly songs stuck in my head all these years later. His dream come true would have been a theme park full of just construction vehicles that he could actually drive. Well all these years later there is a place just like that and it’s right here in New Jersey! It’s called Diggerland and it’s located in West Berlin, New Jersey. Diggerland hosted us and a few other bloggers for a day of fun yesterday and even at ten years old, he loved every minute!
For a kid who has loved construction trucks since he was a baby, this place is a dream come true! He can actually drive and control the same vehicles he played with when he was little.
The last time we made it out to Diggerland was for their grand opening and I was still pregnant! My son’s been asking to go back ever since and now that the baby is bigger I thought this would be the perfect time to go! Diggerland is located right next to Sahara Sam’s Oasis Indoor & Outdoor Waterpark.
There are over 25 attractions with most of them REAL construction equipment specially modified for Diggerland. Including The World’s Faster Backhoe complete with a Chevy Big Block engine. Now that’s something you definitely don’t see everyday!
Plus a playground, rope course and rock wall for even more fun.
Lucky for us the park wasn’t really crowded yesterday and so he had plenty of opportunities to drive these trucks over and over again.
They even hold birthday parties. Oh how I wish this was around just a few years ago! He would have wanted his birthday here every year!
Diggerland is open from March – December and parking is always free! Visit www.DiggerlandUSA.com
Disclosure: Diggerland hosted my family and I for a day at the park. No other compensation was received and all opinions are my own.
