Growing up, Winnie the Pooh was one of my favorite characters so to say I’m a little excited to see my pals from the Hundred Acre Wood back in a live action adventure would be an understatement. Winnie the Pooh Smoothie Inspired by Disney’s Christoper Robin

During this year’s Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, we were treated to an extended look at Disney’s Christopher Robin coming to theaters August 3, 2018. Growing up with Winnie the Pooh, seeing Pooh come to life on the big screen was a little nostalgic. I even shed a few tears watching the trailer and I’m already counting down the days until it’s released. Not only did I grow up with Winner the Pooh but both of my kids did too and I’m not going to lie, some of the messages in the film really hit close to home. It’s no surprise that both of my kids love cars and racing. Having a mom and dad who are into cars and actually met because of their cards, it’s on naturally they’d love cars as much as we do.  Especially Evie. It’s definitely in her genes and probably explains why she loves the Disney Junior series MICKEY AND THE ROADSTER RACERS. She literally watches the show every day.  She has a motorized Minnie Mouse car that she sits in while she watches too.  During commercial breaks, she’ll grab a wipe and wipe down her car. Her love of “vroom vrooms” (what she calls them) runs deep. It doesn’t help that daddy has a supercharged Chevy Camaro in the driveway that she just adores. We’ve had a Moana movie marathon going on in our house since last week. When we arrived home from the Poconos we had a package on our doorstep and both kids rushed to grab it. They knew it was a movie and were thrilled to see Moana in there! They’ve been begging to see this since we missed it when it was in theaters. I thought Evie might be too little to sit through an entire movie when it was release so this was one we were waiting for on DVD. Well that day is finally here! While we may have had a sneak peek last week, you can own it on Blu-ray today! It’s quickly become a family favorite and we’re watched it at least 5 times already! Since it was a little chilly this weekend, we hung out at home and had our own little Moana movie night. One of my favorite parts of homeschooling our kids is the flexibility it allows them to focus on their passions and things they are interested in. While the toddler is just hitting the preschool age, the activities we do with her are fun more than anything. For my oldest on the other hand, his work is only getting harder and it may not be as fun to him as it used to be. Because we have the flexibility to plan out our lessons and cater them to his interests, we do that as much as we can. Take for instance, his love of cooking. He’s been cooking in the kitchen with me since he could walk and all that practice over the years has really paid off. He’s turning into quite the little chef. So we make sure to include plenty of cooking into our week for him to hone his skills.

  • #ad I love to bake and create in the kitchen. Especially during the holidays. Growing up, I remember my mom and aunts always being in the kitchen whipping up something delicious at every party and family get together. Now it’s my turn. I’m the one in the kitchen whipping up delicious treats while my kids are running in to help or help sample the desserts. One treat I look forward to this time of year is a delicious glass of Coquito. If you’ve never had it or heard of it, it’s a Puerto Rican Coconut Nog. Think of it like an eggnog type drink without eggs and made with coconut and NESTLÉ® LA LECHERA® Sweetened Condensed Milk instead). It’s delicious but with the addition of rum, it’s not something the littles can enjoy. So I make it without the rum so everyone can enjoy it. But I also love to use La Lechera in other recipes, like these Spice Cupcakes with Coquito Whipped Cream. Y’all this is SO good! When I first made these, everyone devoured them in minutes. Now it’s one of my most requested holiday recipes! La Lechera is the perfect ingredient when I want to get creative in the kitchen and whip up special treats like this Coquito Whipped Cream. Truthfully, this time of year, I’m using the homemade Coquito Whipped Cream on everything! It’s amazing on a class of NESTLÉ® ABUELITA Hot Chocolate too! After a cold day, this might be my favorite way to warm up! All you need is 1 pint of heavy whipping cream, 1/2 cup of Coquito made with La Lechera Sweetened Condensed milk (grab the recipe on my blog) and 3/4 confectioners sugar. Chill your bowl in the fridge for 15-30 minutes before you start making your whipped cream. Once it’s chilled, add in whipping cream, Coquito and using the whipping attachment on your mixer, mix on high for 3-5 minutes. Once it starts to thicken, add in confectioners sugar and beat on high another 3-5 minutes or until stiff peaks form. Spoon whipped cream into a pipping bag and pipe on top of hot chocolate, cupcakes, use it to frost a cake or eat it right from a spoon! Sprinkle with cinnamon and serve!
