After I graduated high school I was involved in a pretty bad car accident that really damaged my knees. After months of physical therapy and different procedures, I was discharged from treatment feeling better but no where near my normal self. Over the years, I’ve become accustomed to the knee and joint pain that I’m left with and there are many things that I can’t do because of it. I can’t sit in back seats of cars for long periods of time, (I need to keep my knee stretched out). I can’t squat down on my knees and if I do, someone better be nearby to help me back up. It’s definitely had an effect on what I can and can’t do at times. I’ve jokingly told my husband that I’m going to need knee replacement surgery at some point in my life but deep down I really know its not a joke and that will be something I need to face.
