One of my favorite parts of traveling is eating at different restaurants that may not be local to us. One restaurant I’ve always been a fan of is the Hard Rock Cafe. The atmosphere is always fun and it’s a great family friendly restaurant that I can almost guarantee will please the whole family. During our trip to Baltimore, I made sure to include a visit to the Hard Rock Cafe in the Inner Harbor for lunch. [Read more…] about Hard Rock Cafe Baltimore
When we stayed at Woodloch Resort in April, you probably saw some of my photos on Instagram of our gorgeous room. I talked about it briefly in our trip report from Woodloch, but thought to really showcase the gorgeousness of the rooms, I’d share a separate post. Traveling with a tween and a toddler has it’s own set of challenges. Besides trying to make sure we pick destinations that the whole family will enjoy, hotel accommodations are equally important. It’s official, The Mirage, Sahara Sam’s newest expansion is finally opened and we were invited to check it out at the grand opening yesterday before it opened to the public. The Mirage is the new 10,oo0 square foot addition to the existing water park. It’s features a family leisure pool and two addition water slides for more family fun. It officially opens to the public today, May 27th to kick off Memorial Day Weekend. This weekend also marks the opening of the Beach Club area as well.
If you follow me on Instagram and Facebook, you may have seen my photos from Sahara Sam’s Oasis Indoor & Outdoor Water Park last week. They held a media night and invited some local bloggers out for a night of fun and to check out their expansion project. Believe it or not, this was my family’s first time to Sahara Sam’s Oasis and even though I heard great things, I was eager to check it out for myself.
To say we had fun would be an understatement. There is so much to do for little and big kids. There’s a wave rider, kiddie pool, lazy lagoon to float around in, a basketball pool and a splash zone I even had fun in! Not to mention the entire outdoor swim area which isn’t even open yet.
Now they’re getting even bigger! The 10,000 square-foot expansion is underway and set to open Memorial Day weekend. The expansion, called The Mirage, will have an Egyptian theme to it and will hold another more relaxing indoor pool as well as two more racing slides. We can’t wait to see it when it’s all done.
Once we had our tour, we had a chance to try out some of the food and some free time to play in the park. We had so much fun neither one of my kids wanted to leave.
I knew the little one would love it because she loves water. As soon as we walked in and saw the TIM-BUK-TU Tree Fort splash zone, her face lit up. She loved it and ran around in circles under the water.
Getting her out of the Lizard Lagoon kiddie pool proved to be tough. She loved seeing other little kids her size and splashing around with them.
My son is a water bug just like her and had made some new friends in the basketball pool and enjoyed floating around in the inner tubes.
Despite spending my entire life living in New Jersey, I’ve never been to the Poconos. It’s pretty crazy to think that there are so many wonderful places nearby that I haven’t had the chance to explore yet. Part of my is to start traveling more, starting with some of the great places that are so close to home. Growing up, we didn’t travel much. The Jersey Shore was the extend of my travels. That’s why I’ve made it such a priority to travel with my kids. I want them to learn and explore the world around them and take in all the sights. So I couldn’t wait to partner with Woodloch Resort in beautiful Hawley, PA for a weekend getaway. Everything from the beautiful and scenic ride up to the resort to the beautiful room and exquisite grounds did not disappoint. I’ve heard wonderful things about Woodloch but actually experiencing it for myself was a whole new ballgame. It was everything I heard and more.
