Why I’m Crushing on Chanel’s New Coco Mademoiselle Fragrance – Crush Absolu
There’s a brand-new Chanel perfume to add to your fragrance wish list, and if you’re already a Coco Mademoiselle fan, you’re going to want to smell this one.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu is the newest fragrance to join the iconic Coco Mademoiselle collection, and it’s a richer, more intense take on the fragrance we already know and love..And can we talk about that bottle for a minute?
The deeper pink-beige fragrance, black label and gold lettering give the classic Coco Mademoiselle bottle a moodier, more luxurious look. It feels perfect for fall sitting on a perfume tray – but it’s what’s inside that really makes this new Chanel perfume interesting.
What Does Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu Smell Like?
Crush Absolu opens with a fruity combination of lychee and grapefruit. It’s fresh and juicy at first, before the floral notes begin to come through.
Scent Notes:
- Top: Lychee and grapefruit accord
- Middle: Rose and jasmine
- Bottom: Patchouli, vanilla, and vetiver
I’m obsessed with this new scent and have boldly claimed it as my new, signature Fall scent.
This is the type of scent I immediately think of for fall evenings, date nights, dinner reservations and getting dressed up on vacation.
You know those perfumes that just make you feel a little more put together when you spray them on?
This totally has that vibe. And I cannot get enough of it.
How Is Crush Absolu Different From the Original Coco Mademoiselle?
If you already own the original Coco Mademoiselle, you may be wondering whether you really need another version.
The original Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum combines orange with rose, jasmine, patchouli and vetiver. Crush Absolu keeps some of that recognizable Coco Mademoiselle DNA, particularly the rose, jasmine and patchouli, but takes it in a different direction.
Instead of orange leading the fragrance, Crush Absolu opens with that lychee-grapefruit combination. Then the warmer ambery base and vanilla accents give it a richer feel.
So while they’re definitely related, Crush Absolu isn’t simply the original perfume in a prettier bottle.
It’s an entirely new, different scent to tempt your senses.

A New Chanel Perfume Made for Fall
While fragrance is obviously personal and you can wear whatever you love year-round, Crush Absolu screams fall to me.
The juicy fruit in the opening keeps it from feeling too heavy, while the amber, vanilla, patchouli and vetiver give it the warmth I want once the temperatures start dropping.
Think cozy sweaters, dinner in the city, fall weekends away and holiday parties.
It’s feminine without feeling overly sweet and sophisticated without feeling stuffy.
Basically, it’s exactly the kind of fragrance I want sitting on my vanity heading into fall.
Gracie Abrams Is the Face of Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu
Chanel tapped singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams as the face of the new fragrance.
It’s a fitting choice for a perfume Chanel has built around the idea of attraction, confidence and following your instincts. Chanel’s campaign introduces Crush Absolu as a more intense and magnetic interpretation of Coco Mademoiselle.
How Much Is Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu?
Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu is currently available in two sizes in the U.S.
At launch, the 1.7 oz bottle is $162, while the larger 3.4 oz bottle is $195 through Chanel.
Considering there’s only a $33 difference between the two sizes, I’d personally be tempted by the larger bottle if you already know you love the fragrance.
Is Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu Worth Trying?
If you’re already a Coco Mademoiselle girl, absolutely put this one on your list to smell.
It still has elements that make Coco Mademoiselle so recognizable, but the fruity opening and warmer, more intense dry-down give Crush Absolu its own personality.
And if you’ve never been completely sold on the original Coco Mademoiselle? I’d still give this one a try. The lychee-grapefruit opening and warmer ambery base may surprise you.
Chanel doesn’t need much help making a perfume bottle look gorgeous sitting on your vanity, but Crush Absolu may be one of my favorite Coco Mademoiselle bottles yet.
And with fall right around the corner, the timing couldn’t be better.
Coco Mademoiselle Crush Absolu might just be my newest fragrance crush.
