It’s been forever since my husband and I had a night out just the two of us. It’s been so long, I honestly can’t even remember when our last date night was. I try to make it a point to have a date night at home, just the two of us, a few movies and nice dinner but actually going out is a whole other story. Since his birthday was Tuesday, we made plans to actually go out this weekend. Just the two of us. It’s been so long since I’ve been out without kids in tow, I don’t know how to act but to make sure that I can enjoy the night I put together a little kit for me to keep my makeup and other essentials in.
I’ve only carried a diaper bag for the last year or so I’m pretty excited to pull out one of my purses for a night out. As I started packing up my purse with my wallet, planner and other essential stuff. I realized just how underprepared I really am. My diaper bag is filled with everything the kids need, but outside of my drivers license and my keys, I don’t pack anything for emergencies or things that I need. So I put together a little clutch I can move from my purse to diaper bag with essentials that mom needs for a day or night out.
Finding the right bag to create this little kit was pretty easy. I grabbed this beauty on the makeup aisle in Walmart and all the essentials I needed to fill it up while I was there. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect! It could hold my makeup, brush and some of my favorite goodies all in one place. Since it was clear, I knew it would make finding things easy, especially when I only have one hand free when I have the baby.
Besides my makeup, some hair ties (if you have long hair like me, you know it’s essential to carry a few of these with you at all times!), and brush, I picked up a travel sized Advil Tablet Vial. The last thing I want on my night out is a headache! Since nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers) this is a must in my bag. I want to enjoy my night so having this on hand, I’m prepared for any aches and pains that may arise.
I also grabbed a ChapStick Total Hydration for those times I don’t want to wear a lipstick but need something to keep my lips from getting dry. ChapStick Total Hydration is 100% natural and instantly smoothes and moisturizes my lips.
Now I can have all the things I need in a bag just for me that I can easily switch out between my diaper bag and purse and I won’t be unprepared for anything!
I’ve share some of my essentials with you now I’d love to hear what some of your essentials are!
