For the last few months working on taking care of me has been a top priority. As a mom, I tend to make sure the kids and even my husband are taken care of before I even start thinking about me. In fact, most days, there’s no time left in the day for me. So I put in motion the steps to redefine my day and make my health and my needs more of a priority. Part of that is finding a fitness routine that works for me. Since we homeschool and I work from home, that’s been quite a challenge. I’ve started taking walks in the morning with the kids and have actively been watching what I eat. But I want to do more. Something I’ve had an interest in for a long time is yoga. I’ve heard plenty of reasons why yoga is good for your health and truthfully it sounds like exactly what I was looking for. Last week I even had a chance to join Depend® at Yoga Journal Live in New York City. After spending the day there, I’m even more excited to find a local yoga class and start my yoga journey to be the best me.
I was in awe watching some of the classes that took place right outside the Depend® booth. Some of the moves and stretches they did were amazing. You could really see their strength in holding certain poses. Watching these women (and men) was an amazing experience and it really made my mind up that this is what I need to do for me.
I’ll be the first to tell you yoga it is NOT as easy as it looks! Not at all.
Depend® had a sketch artist on site so attendees could visit the booth and strike their favorite yoga pose as he sketched us. I gave it my best shot and quickly learned it’s not easy to hold that pose. I’ve been practicing since I came home with my very own yoga mat and hopefully I start seeing some improvement soon.
The board started off a blank canvas and over the weekend was filled in with people from all backgrounds and all shapes and sizes in their favorite pose to represent the 65 millions American experiencing urinary incontinence. By the end of the weekend that board was filled and was a great visual representation of people doing something they love.
Let that sink in a minute. 65 million people is a lot of people and it’s a topic not a lot of people are comfortable talking about. But it doesn’t have to be. Depend® is committed to giving you the confidence you need to continue living the life you want and helping you do the things you love.
Since I was at Yoga Journal Live to share my personal experience with incontinence, I had plenty of opportunities to talk to women, and even a few men, of all ages about incontinence and the ways Depend® is committed to enhancing the lives of people with bladder leakage. The people I talked to were really impressed with the Depend® Silhouette® Active Fit Briefs and how much they look and feel like real underwear. One lady I talked with thought they were perfect for yoga, with all the stretching and holding of poses, she loved them for any light leakage that she may experience.
And she’s right. The new and improved Depend® Real Fit Silhouette® and Silhouette® Active Fit briefs were designed with a smooth, sleek fit and premium, cotton-like fabric that’s now more breathable than ever. Their new look and feel remind me of regular underwear and will give me the confidence I need to continue living the life I want with the freedom to do the things I love.
No matter what your experience with incontinence is, Depend® offers a solution to help you own your greatness and live the life you love. The new designs offer a more masculine look for men and a feminine design in a range of colors for women. I really love the new lavender color. It’s so pretty.
