Diggerland USA in Berlin, NJ is a Summer Must Do

Sharing is caring!

Disclosure: I attended Media Day at Diggerland no other compensation was received. As always, all opinions are my own.

Ever since we first heard about Diggerland, the first construction themed theme park in North America, we’ve been waiting for the day it would open. You see, ever since my son was a baby, he’s been fascinated with construction vehicles. From the time he could sit up, construction vehicles were his go to toys. I watched more “digger” themed videos in my lifetime that I ever wished to see. If my husband or I ever mistakenly identified a vehicle we were quickly corrected. He knew every type and the differences. Even though he is older now and the days of watching those videos are long come, he still couldn’t wait to check out the park. After all, it’s not every day that you get to drive around in a “digger” truck.

Our day started with a some great food, pictures with characters and we had a chance to listen to the owners talk a little about the park.  We ate in a nice, big covered patio area that will be perfect to eat lunch at the park or to get a little shade in the hot summer months. I loved the front loader filled with ice as a cooler!

We headed out to explore the park and check out some of the rides. The rides are actual construction vehicles that we modified into rides and attractions. There is even a great big rock climbing wall and slide for the kids to play on. We spent some time playing on the slide before we moved onto the other areas.

Unfortunately for us, it was a cloudy day and the rain moved in before we were able to try out any of the rides. We did get to see a few of them in action before the rain started and they look like a lot of fun.   Not thrill rides that have you holding on for dear life, but rides that you and your kids can actually enjoy together and have fun on.

Some areas of the park weren’t fully open yet, like this vehicle that you can control and “dig” like a real machine operator.

The park fully opens on June 14th, only 10 days from now and we can’t wait to go back to enjoy the rides and other areas that we missed. Here’s some information about the park to help you plan out your trip:
Admission
Admission tickets are $29.95 if you purchase them online before your visit.  Walk up tickets are $34.95. Save yourself time and money and purchase your tickets online, that way won’t have to wait in line to buy your tickets at the gate and you’ll have more time to explore the park.  Guests under 36 in. or over 65 years of age are FREE!

Parking
Parking is free at Diggerland USA. Yup that’s right – FREE! That’s a big plus in my book.
There are height and weight restrictions on the rides which you can view here. There are 19 different rides and attractions that kids will love! Diggerland USA gives kids the chance to experience a theme park like no other and their sure to leave with a smile on their face.
