If you love crafting and creating projects, let me give you 5 reasons a Cricut Explore Air 2 is a MUST own piece of equipment. I previously owned a Cricut mini and enjoyed many years of crafting fun with that little machine but it didn’t prepare me for the amazing projects I could create with the Cricut Explore Air 2. Heck, I even designed my entire office around my pretty new equipment. This handy machine really makes crafting so much more fun.  I can whip up everything from matching family shirts to this cute farmhouse style container to hide my cat litter boxes.

Here are just a few reasons why I recommend a Cricut Air Explore 2 to anyone who loves to create.

DESIGNING MADE EASY

The Cricut Explore Air 2 makes designing my projects a breeze with Cricut Design Space. Even for beginners who may not have a lot of experience in designing and creating projects, the machine is pretty simple to use right out of the box.

Then add in all the tutorials and videos out there to help you navigate, I find it to be a pretty simple process.

THE CRICUT EXPLORE AIR 2 IS VERSATILE

The machine has the ability to cut over a hundred different materials. It can easily cut everything from cardstock, vinyl, and iron-on to specialty materials like glittery paper, polished foils, and bonded fabric. It can even score and write.

The Cricut utilizes Cut Smart Technology which enables the machine’s versatile fine-point blades to cut light- to medium-weight materials quickly and accurately all the way down to details smaller than a nail decal.

CRICUT EXPLORE AIR 2 IS PORTABLE

I designed my entire office space around the Cricut Explore Air 2 so I don’t plan on taking it with me on-the-go, but it’s nice to know that it’s portable and can go on the road with me if needed.

They even make special cases on the Cricut.com to transport your machine safely. It’s a good excuse to plan a crafting day with your girlfriends.

THE DESIGN SPACE APP

For someone like me with zero design experience, the Design Space is pretty easy to navigate and the tons of tutorials out there really help when you stuck.

But my favorite feature might be The Design Space App. Yup! There’s an app and it’s life changing! Whenever inspiration strikes, no matter where I am, the app makes it easy to whip up my design so I don’t forget to do it later.

In fact, it’s how I whipped up this design for my cat litter storage. I loathe looking at those boxes and containers my cat’s litter comes in but I need it handy so I had to come up with a cuter solution.

Since my DIY cat food containers are one of my most popular projects and they were the perfect solution for hiding my cat food bags, I figured I’d do the same for the cat litter.

When I bought my desk pieces from IKEA for my Cricut office makeover, I grabbed this container since it was perfect for this project. It’s large enough to hold plenty of my cat’s litter and looks so much better sitting out in the open.

I keep a giant scoop inside to fill the litter boxes as needed and it’s just all around prettier to look at.

I kept the design simple and added a few cat paw prints and set out to cut it out.

THE CRICUT EXPLORE AIR 2 TAKES CELEBRATIONS TO THE NEXT LEVEL

Whether you’re celebrating a birthday or a special trip, the Cricut Explore Air 2 lets you create everything from decorations to party shirts to travel accessories with ease for a special and personalized touch.

I made this Fish Extender for our Disney Cruise a few years ago using my older Cricut machine and with a trip coming up in February, I can’t wait to make a new one with the Cricut Explore Air 2.  Just thinking about the possibilities gets me giddy!

Did you also make the litter box yourself? If so, would you be able to give a tutorial for that as well?
