No matter where you are heading in from, these fun events throughout the state are worth the drive and are perfect for the whole family. Not only will you get to create some priceless family memories but you’ll enjoy a mini road trip to see this beautiful state.
POPCORN PICKING AT JOHNSON’S CORNER FARM
Did you know you could pick popcorn? I didn’t until I moved to South Jersey and visited Johnson’s Corner Farm in Medford, NJ with my kids. This is probably one of our favorite (and delicious) Fall activities. Enjoy a hayride out to the cornfields to pick a special type of corn cob that you can microwave into some of the most delicious popcorn you’ve ever eaten. While popcorn picking doesn’t officially start until November, you can enjoy apple and pumpkin picking right now.
FALL FISHING
Fall is the perfect time of year to grab your fishing poles and head to the lake to fish with the kids. CLICK HERE to find a spot near you right here in New Jersey to enjoy this fun event with your family.
SIX FLAGS FRIGHT FEST
For older kids and adults, Six Flags Fright Fest is the perfect day of fun. Located in Jackson, NJ, enjoy the park’s thrills and chills and when the sun goes down get ready to be scared!
THE COUNTS HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR AT SESAME PLACE
While this technically isn’t in New Jersey, it is right over the bridge in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. The magic of Sesame Street comes to life at Sesame Place with fun rides, shows, and your favorite Sesame Street characters. October kicks off The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular where your little ones can trick-or-treat throughout the park
PUMPKINFEST AT SHADY BROOK FARM
Here’s another one that’s not in NJ but not too far away in Yardley, PA. Fall is just not complete until we go pumpkin picking and PumkinFest at Shady Brook Farm is fun for the whole family! Take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin not to mention all the festival fun during the event. Stay until night to enjoy PumpkinFest After Dark. Make family memories with that you’ll cherish.
DIGGERLAND
Take a ride to Berlin, NJ for a fun-filled day at Diggerland, North America’s only construction themed theme park! Visit during October for Night of the Living Machines. You’ll be able to enjoy the construction themed rides after dark and take a hayride into the unknown!
POPCORN PARK ZOO
The Popcorn Park Zoo is a small 7-acre zoo located in Forked River, New Jersey. The zoo, run by the Associated Humane Society is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, and sick animals. It’s on the smaller side making it great for little kids to walk around and see the animals. My little one had a blast when we went. Visit their website for more information.
CAPE MAY ZOO – BOO AT THE ZOO
If you’ve ever driven through Cape May, New Jersey you already know what a beautiful town it is. But did you know there is a zoo in Cape May? The zoo offers free admission (donations are appreciated) and is open year round. Visit the end of October for Boo at the Zoo. Visitors of all ages are invited to wear a costume to this fun family event, which includes activities for the kids, games, candy, entertainment, animals, inflatable obstacle course, a magic show and more.
FIELD STATION DINOSAURS
If your kids love dinosaurs then a drive to Field Station Dinosaurs in Leonia, NJ is a must do! Here you can get up close and personal with giant dinosaurs as you walk around the trails. There are 32 life-sized dinosaurs and over forty live shows, games, and activities for you to enjoy.
APPLE PICKING AT TERHUNE ORCHARDS
Apple picking is another fun family favorite. Not only are the apples great for snacking but I can’t get enough of Fall baking with apples or Caramel Apple Nachos recipe. So good!
Spending the day at the farm picking apples is a Fall tradition in our family. We had a fun-filled afternoon at Terhune Orchards, in Princeton, NJ, picking apples. Apple picking is a fun activity great for the whole family.
We’ve already crossed several of these attractions off our Fall bucket list while we enjoyed some time in the Hyundai Ioniq. Hybrid cars are not new to me but the Ioniq takes things to a new level with plenty of amenities, advanced safety features, and ingenious design.
The comfort, convenience, and responsiveness that the Hyundai Ioniq offers are just some of the reasons to love this car. But the safety features are what I really fell in love with. Features like Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, a standard rearview camera and 7 airbags including a driver’s knee airbag make the Hyundai Ioniq a great choice for families.
Today’s technology in your car is always better when it’s familiar and personal and with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ the smartphone apps you prefer are put right on Ioniq’s touchscreen. This way you can get your information and entertainment via the interface that’s familiar to you while keeping your eyes ahead on the road and off of your phone. Access maps, navigation, contacts lists, texts, calls, even your music library seamlessly and safely while driving using the car’s touchscreen or voice recognition.
This was my first experience with Apple CarPlay™`and I loved having all my apps and access to my maps right there on the touchscreen.

Plenty of trunk space for our wagon, all our apples and so much more!
There is plenty of space in the interior. Ioniq Hybrid’s 26.5 cu. ft. of cargo space is huge, plus the large hatch gives you better access for loading and unloading than any trunk. There’s even a 60/40 split-folding rear seatback that gives you many useful options for both seating passengers and securing cargo.
The 2017 Hyundai Ioniq has a starting price of $22,000 and offers 58 MPG and up to 690 mile range.
What are some of your favorite Fall activities?
