Fishing Together – Preserve the Moment and the Catch + #PreserveTheMomentContest

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of FoodSaver®; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

I remember waking up while it was still dark out holding my little fishing pole and tackle box while waiting for my dad to pack the lunches for the day. I stood by the front door anxiously awaiting our trip to the lake for a day of fishing. I couldn’t wait to see what I was going to catch. More often than not, I gave up after about ten minutes when I didn’t catch anything. Patience is not a virtue that many 5 years olds have, and I sure didn’t. Catch or no catch, I still had so much fun and looked forward to those trips every weekend. Times have changed and now that I’m a parent, fishing is a tradition that I couldn’t wait to start with my own kids. My  husband grew up fishing and is now the fisherman of the family creating those same memories that I cherish with our own kids.

Both of my kids have been fishing since they could walk. Now that my first born isn’t a little guy anymore, one of his favorite things to do is surf fish. If it’s a nice day during fishing season, it’s a safe bet you’ll find him and my husband at the shore fishing.

Foodsaver Gamesaver

Each one trying for their next big catch. Not only do they enjoy catching an array of fish from the Jersey shore, they enjoy cooking and eating them too. So when they catch something, they’re pretty excited to bring it home and cook it up.

Like this fluke they caught on their last trip. I wasn’t expecting to cook a fish that night so instead, they filleted it to freeze for another day. Of course we want the fish to taste as fresh as can be when we’re ready to eat it and we’re always looking for ways to keep our fish fresh, longer.

Enter the GameSaver® Big Game™ Vaccum Sealing System. The FoodSaver® GameSaver® is a food preservation system that helps makes the most of harvested fish and game.

The Big Game™ keeps fish and game fresh up to 5x longer* and even helps prevent freezer burn so it’s as fresh as can be when you’re ready to use it. (*compared to ordinary storage methods).

It’s even great for on-the-go use. The Big Game™ has a rugged handle and 12 volt DC adaptor making it convenient to power up and preserve right from your car, boat or RV. They took it out on their last trip and it plugged right into the trunk of our SUV, making it easier than ever to filet their catch and seal it up right on the spot. Once it’s sealed, they can just toss it in a cooler of ice until they get home to transfer it to the freezer.

The Big Game™ works with 8 & 11  ” vacuum seal rolls, all pre-made bag sizes, fresh containers and the quick marinator.
