I just love Halloween. It’s one of my favorite holidays. I love fall in general but dressing up for Halloween is extra fun. Some years, we’ll do coordinating costumes as a family but now that my son is getting older, he prefers more “scary” costumes. So now I focus my attention on my little one. While I still haven’t narrowed down what were going to be this year (I’m stuck on a few different ideas) I do have her outfit for our Halloween party this weekend. She is going to be a boo-tiful ghost in the cutest ghost dress I found her last year. I loved it so much I actually bought it in a few sizes. Now that she’s getting bigger and her hair is getting longer, I get to style her hair more than just a headband. To coordinate with her dress I made this super easy ghost hair clip and it looks boo-tiful!
Taking care of her hair now is definitely more challenging than it was this time last year. She has so much more hair and it’s naturally curly.
Waking up, her hair is usually a knotty mess even though I pull her hair back into a ponytail every night before bed. Somehow every morning she wakes up like this with a knotty mess.
Thankfully she loves getting her hair brushed and will actually grab her brush and JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLE® detangling spray for me to do her hair. When it comes to haircare for her, I follow a 3-step routine to help keep her hair manageable and tangle free. Every night before bed we have a little mommy and me time so I can brush her hair. She loves every second of it and it’s a great to spend time just me and her. She’ll climb in my bed and sit right on my lap with a book. We’ll read it together while I brush. Sometimes it even puts her to sleep.
Step 1: Clean your little one’s hair with JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® leave-in conditioner shampoo & conditioner for soft and smooth hair
Step 2: Nourish their hair with JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® conditioner to detangle and condition your little one’s hair in one easy step. No rinsing required.
Step 3: Style using a wide tooth comb or brush and JOHNSON’S® NO MORE TANGLES® conditioner
The NO MORE TEARS® formula is as gentle to the eyes as pure water and is paraben-free. This 3-step routine unlocks 75% of knots of trouble free combing and hair that looks beautiful. I use the detangling spray all the time and for this easy Halloween hairstyle. I simply sprayed it in, brushed her hair and wrapped sections around my finger for her ringlets.
Although she isn’t crazy about a lot of hair bows and headbands right now, I knew the clip would be the easiest way to make her hair festive and match her outfit. She actually likes it and kept it in all morning. I brushed the hair out of her face and into a ponytail set low on her head. Then I just clipped the ghost hair clip onto the top.
To make your own ghost clip you’ll need the following:
- Hair clip or barrette
- white ribbon
- small googly eyes
- mini black bows or a thin black ribbon to make your own
- hot glue gun
First trim pieces of white ribbon for the ghost body. Determine how long you want the ghost to be and cut 3 pieces of white ribbon (you may need four depending on how wide your clip is)
Using the hot glue gun, glue the pieces together at the top.
Add a dab of glue to the hair bow and glue on the top of the ghost
Glue on the googly eyes
Then glue the ghost onto the clip.
It was so easy to make this hair clip and it looks so cute in her hair. They’d be great party favors or gifts for your little one’s friends.
