When we heard one of my daughter’s favorite shows, Gigantosaurus, had a special holiday episode coming up we couldn’t wait to throw a fun movie watch party to celebrate! We invited a few friends over for an afternoon of gigantic dinosaur fun to celebrate the holidays and our favorite dinosaur!
For our watch party, I whipped up some easy Dino Egg Cupcakes and mini Dinosaur Footprint Quesadillas for the kids to munch on while they played with some of the latest Gigantosaurus toys and books out just in time for the holidays.
Since I was trying to keep things as simple and stress free as possible (it is the holiday season after all), I went with an easy stress-free menu that would be good for any party.
I picked up some ready-made cupcakes and found some candy that looked like dinosaur eggs to top them with.
I used a cookie cutter in the shape of a dinosaur footprint and cut out some spinach and herb wraps for the quesadillas. The green color went perfect with the theme of the party and the kids were none the wiser.
I filled them shredded cheddar cheese and shredded chicken for a simple lunch.
This menu doesn’t have to be holiday themed either! You could totally throw a Gigantosaursus (or dinosaur) themed party any time of year with these easy recipes.
If you wanted even more fun for your party you could make these DIY Dinosaur Fossils with the kids. They make a great party favor too!
DON’T MISS THE GIGANTOSAURUS HOLIDAY EPISODE
This season Gigantosaurus is celebrating with a special holiday episode titled “The Shortest Day”. On the shortest day of the year, Tiny throws a huge party to lift everyone’s spirits. She promises to decorate a big tree in the Frozen Land, have lots of food, and give gifts to everyone. But what happens when all the decorations, food and presents fall into a crevasse? Can the dinosaurs still have fun without it all? On this day when night comes the earliest, Tiny and the others learn they already have everything they need – each other.
Watch this special epidote on DisneyNOW on Disney Junior on 12/18 (12:40pm), 12/24 (10:10am), and 12/25 (3:35pm).
Are your kids huge Gigantosaurus fans too?
