When the holidays roll around, there’s one thing that officially kicks off the holiday season for me and that’s our yearly visit with Santa. It’s not officially the holidays for me until I get that annual picture. I love displaying them on the mantle as party of my holiday decor and looking back each year at the kids and how much they’ve grown. It’s a timeless tradition for me and one that I absolutely adore. I always try to go the minute Santa sets up shop at the. Santa HQ Freehold Mall. This year we got there a little later than usual but now that I have it, the holidays can officially begin!
This is a sponsored post in partnership with Santa HQ. All opinions are my own.
Gone are the days of waiting in a long, boring line and having an unhappy kid when it’s time to meet Santa. Santa HQ enhances the enjoyment of the Santa HQ’s photos-with-Santa experience by having guests select the date and time of their photos session by making a reservation online at https://santa-hq.com.
It’s simple. Just select your day and time, pre-pay for your photo package and show up at your designated time. You can even have Santa HQ text you a reminder so you don’t forget.
Santa HQ Features
When you arrive for your visit with Santa and check in, you can visit the HGTV Santa HQ’s new Elf Academy, a new, family-friendly experience that features interactive technology to enhance the entire HGTV Santa HQ visit.
There are even some new additions to the Elf Academy including the Magic Mirror where guests can transform into one of Santa’s elves and virtually try on various elf outfits. Then there’s Elf-ID where guests can create their very own customized Elf-ID card using the new Elf-ID app and a “selfie”.
Don’t miss Elf-Ray Vision where you can explore Santa’s Observatory through the use of tablets. Special areas within Santa HQ trigger an augmented reality experience for guests. My daughter loved this part. She thought it was pure magic when the elf showed up!
I can’t forget the Naughty or Nice Meter. As you make your way to Santa, a stop at the Naughty or Nice meter is a must Visitors can stand next to an interactive board to find out which of Santa’s lists – Naughty or Nice — they made. Thankfully, Evie made the nice list and she was definitely relieved.
There’s even a light Show with over 10,000 individual holiday lights will be synchronized to the tune of “Carol of the Bells” to create an illuminated orchestra.
Get In the Holiday Spirit of Giving
Visitors to Santa HQ will also be able to enjoy the holiday spirit of giving through HGTV’s Help Through Holiday Giving Drive. The program encourages visitors to donate new, unwrapped toys for local children in need with the goal of collecting over 1,000 toys per center. In 2017, HGTV’s Help Through Holiday Giving program collected over 66,000 toys benefiting local organizations like Forgotten Angel Tree, Salvation Army Angel Tree, Toys for Tots, and Spark of Love Stuff a Bus.
