Movie nights are a pretty big deal in our house. We try to have one at least once a week where we sit down together as a family and enjoy a movie. It may seem simple but sometimes things get so busy and hectic in our lives that it’s nice to just stay home and unwind together as a family. We’ll be watching ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE this weekend for our next family movie night. I love to try and theme our dinners and movie night snacks to whatever movie we’re watching. To enjoy the latest installment in the ICE AGE series, we came up with this Acorn Popcorn recipe. It’s super easy to make and the whole family will enjoy it.
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
“Your favorite ICE AGE heroes are back and cooler than ever in this all-new adventure! Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn accidently triggers cosmic events that threaten the ICE AGE world. Now Buck, Manny, Ellie, Sid, Diego and the rest of the herd must work together on a hilarious journey filled with nonstop action and colorful new characters in order to survive the global Scrat-tastrophe!”

To make this recipe you’ll need a few ingredients and about 10-15 minutes of prep time to make the acorns. In fact, this is a great way to have the kids help you in the kitchen. They can assemble the edible acorns.
ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE ACORN POPCORN RECIPE
- 1 Bag of popcorn
- 1 bag of kettle corn
- mini round cookies (I used these chocolate stripe ones but anything small and round would work for this)
- chocolate icing
- chocolate kisses
- edible star sprinkles
Cover the bottom of the cookie with a little chocolate icing and top with one of the chocolate kisses. In a bowl, mix equal part popcorn and kettle corn and sprinkle with the acorn cookies and sprinkle in the edible star sprinkles.
Grab you the family and enjoy ICE AGE: COLLISION COURSE with the family.

Scrat is my favorite, but I am not sure he is technically an Ice Age character, so I will choose Peaches.
