For the last week I’ve been spoiled with by driving a new 2016 GMC Yukon Denali sent to me by GMC. When I say luxury, I mean it. This SUV had all the bells and whistles you’d expect in a luxury SUV paired with the rugged body styling of the GMC Yukon. As a mom of two, I can appreciate the space inside this vehicle. Even with the rear-facing car seat in the back seat, there was plenty of room left up front. The smooth ride and handling made me look for reasons to run errands just to spend more time in it.
Let’s start off with the looks. This baby is a head turner. From the 22 in rims to the rugged body design be prepreaed to be noticed in this beauty.
I’ll be a little honest, I was really nervous about driving this size of an SUV. While I currently drive and SUV the GMC Yukon Denali is a lot bigger. As soon as I saw behind the wheel, the nervousness drifted away. While it is a much bigger truck, the smooth handling made it a breeze to maneuver.
The head-up display was a great feature and this was the first vehicle that I’ve driven that has had one. It was nice not having to take my eyes off the road to look down at the speedometer. It was right there in front of me and not at all distracting.
The 6.2 liter V8 engines (equipped in this model) produce a whopping 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of peak torque giving nice, not overpowering, sound from the engine.
Whether your the driver or the passenger (I was both in this vehicle) you’ll appreciate teh smooth ride and comfortable seats. The front suspension is an indeptendent coil over shock design with twin-tube shock absorbers, a 36 mm hollow stabilizer bar and Magnetic Ride Control. The rear susbension consists of a solid axle with five-link location and coil springs, a 28 mm stabilizedr bar and the electronic Magnetic Ride Control. Not sure what all that means? Don’t worry. One test drive in the 2016 Yukon Denali and you’ll see for yourself.
Traveling with kids in tow.
If you’re a parent thinking about the GMC Yukon Denali. You won’t be disappointed. The room is amazing. Even with the rear facing child seat behind the passenger seat, as a tall girl, I still had plenty of leg room and space to move around. Something that is lacking in my current SUV.
This model had the upgraded captains chairs in the second row which was great although I’d imagine the bench serating to be just as good. I liked the floor space for holding the baby’s diaper bag between the seats which kept everyhing within arm
If you have kids in sports or activities which require shuffling multiple kids around to different places then you’ll love the 7 passenger seating offered by the Yukon Denali not to mention the huge cargo area (when the third row is folded down) perfect for trnaspotring all the equipment that goes along with those kids. If you’re utilizing the third row seating, there’s no need to fret. There is still space in the cargo area plus the roof rack if you need more.
The optional flip down TV is a great resource and deifnintely kept my oldest busy on our trips. Somehting that would definitely come in hand on longer road trips. I was even able to enjoy the movie from the front seat as it played on the screen.

Price as Driven:
Overall we loved our time spent in the GMC Yukon Denali. Everything from looks down to the comfort level met our exceptions but with a hefty price tag. If luxury is something you’re after, the 2016 GMC Yukon Denali delivers.
