It’s no secret that I love Halloween. It one of my favorite times of the year. If you’re looking for something fun to do this fall, then you have to check out Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA. From now until October 27th, Sesame Place is celebrating The Count’s Halloween Spooktacular. You can enjoy mazes, a pumpkin patch, your favorite characters dressed in Halloween costumes and even a hayride. While the water rides are closed this time of year, all of the dry rides are open for your enjoyment. We went this past weekend to enjoy some trick-or-treating in the park (Yup, there’s that too) and had a blast! Kids and families are encouraged to come in costume. My son grabbed his favorite costume hoodie and he was set!
In addition to the trick or treating, families can enjoy fun events just for Halloween like:
- Countdown to Halloween: A live character Halloween Musical Show
- The Count’s Not to Spooky Halloween Radio Show: Check out The Count Von Count as the master of scare-emoines on an old time radio show. Great for the whole family.
- Elmo’s World Live! Halloween: Join Elmo, Mr. Noodle and Dorothy as they explore Halloween
- Neighborhood Street Party Halloween Parade: Enjoy “The Neighborhood Street Party” parade with all new Halloween elements.
One of my favorite parts of the day was checking out all of the decorations. The park looked amazing. Everywhere you looked there were pumpkins or ghosts or spiders. They even had a pumpkin patch set up where kids could buy a pumpkin and decorate it.
For lunch we ate at Elmo’s Eatery. The food choices looked amazing and the restaurant and tables were so clean. For lunch my son picked chicken fingers and fries. Both were yummy and we both loved the cute Halloween plate and cup that came with the kids meal.
The crowds were minimal and that was great news for us since we had little to no wait for all the rides and attractions. Some of our favorites rides are the carousel and the teacups and we had so much fun riding them over and over.
My favorite character sighting of the day was Oscar in his trash can. I thought he was so cute! The mazes were a lot of fun and n We finished our day with a hayride and story with Ernie. It was a perfect way to end the days festivities.
We had such a fun time at Sesame Place, we can’t wait to go back. The park is great for kids of all ages to enjoy. My son is already asking to go back.

I love to bake and I especially love creating fun snacks for my little guy. Since we are all huge Star Wars fans I had to have these awesome Star Wars silicone molds from Kotobukiya. I’ve made everything from ice cubes to cupcake toppers with these molds and I LOVE them! I should say my son loves them! He is always requesting something shaped like his favorite characters. I wanted to make a special snack to surprise him after school so I whipped up these Han Solo S’mores. They were simple to make so they’re great for parties or movie night. All you need are some graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate and of course this awesome Han Solo mold.
Here’s what you need to make these tasty little guys:
Step 1: Melt your chocolate. (Follow the instructions on your chocolate – I melted mine in 4 25 second intervals)
Step 2: Once your chocolate is melted, pour it in your mold.
Step 3: Place the mold in the freezer to set the chocolate. I let mine sit for 20 minutes.
Step 4: Carefully pop the chocolate out of the mold. Layer a marshmallow and one Han Solo chocolate on top of a graham cracker and you have some yummy Star Wars goodies. I used the Kraft Jet-Puffed Stacker-Mallows for these and they were perfect.
These marshmallows are more square and the chocolate pieces stack easily on top.
These s’mores were a big hit and they were devoured almost instantly. These make a great after school snack, party snack or even just a movie night snack. They were so easy to make and I try to make a batch when we’re watching our favorite Star Wars movies.
The mold is so versatile you can use it for candy, ice cubes, jello, etc. Isn’t food always better when it’s fun?!
Ocean Spray is treating guests to a healthy dose of cranberry at the 18th annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. From September 27th through November 11th, guests can stop by the Ocean Spray bog exhibit to learn how cranberries are grown and ways to incorporate them into a variety of tasty recipes. There will even be chef throughout the park cooking up a variety of dishes featuring Craisins® Dried Cranberries at demonstrations, private events, certain restaurants and at the Hops & Barley Marketplace.
Since today is National Ice Cream Day, I’m sharing an easy and fun project – ice cream in a bag. With a few simple ingredients, you can have homemade ice cream in a matter of minutes.
Here are the ingredients you will need:
- Salt (I used Kosher salt but regular table salt will work fine)
- Gallon size zipper bags
- Sandwich size zipper bags
- Toppings – feel free to get creative and use whatever toppings you like
Step 1: Add 1/2 cup of milk to the sandwich zipper bag.
Step 2: Add 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla & 1 tablespoon of sugar to the milk. Seal the bag.
Step 3: Add ice to the gallon bag.
Step 4: Add a generous amount of salt to the ice.
Step 5: Place the sandwich bag with the ice cream mixture into the bag of ice. Seal and shake for about 5 minutes. After a few minutes, stop shaking and feel the milk. You’ll be able feel it thickening. If it’s not quite done, shake for a few more minutes.
After you’re done shaking, it should look like this:
Step 6: Enjoy your ice cream!
We also made a few other flavors this time. We added Nestle Quick powder to the milk mixture to make chocolate and strawberry.
Once it’s done freezing, you can add your toppings and enjoy!
