Lately we’ve been enjoying every minute of fall. The cooler weather, the leaves changing color, everything about this time of year makes it one of my favorite seasons. It’s also pumpkin season. Last weekend we went to a local farm for some pumpkin picking fun. The kids had a blast running around the field looking for the perfect pumpkin and getting lost in the corn maze. I even had a chance to sample some of the delicious pumpkin inspired dishes they had for sale. After our little trip to the pumpkin patch, I’ve been on a pumpkin kick. Pumpkin desserts, pumpkin coffee but my favorite might just be my Pumpkin Chili recipe. It’s perfect for these cool fall nights and it freezes well for later.
When I first mentioned the idea of pumpkin chili to my husband and son they both looked at me with slight confusion. They’re used to my pumpkin creations being in a dessert form not a dinner. Based on their reaction, I knew I was going to have to just pass this recipe off as my regular chili that they love until they had a chance to actually try it.
I’m actually happy say that they both loved it. In fact they claimed it was the best chili they ever had. Apparently they like it better than my regular chili now! Anyway it really is that good and it’s the perfect family dinner on any of these gorgeous fall nights.
I actually forgot I had plans to make this earlier this week and it wasn’t until I was picking up a few things from ALDI, that I remembered my plan to sneak this dinner on my guys. Speaking of ALDI, can I just tell you how much I love shopping here? Ya’ll have to try their Pumpkin Flax Granola the next time you’re in there. I may or may not have ate almost the whole box yesterday. It’s so good! It’s been my go-to snack the last couple of weeks. Aldi has a great variety of fall inspired snacks and products perfect for this time of year.
That’s the great thing about ALDI, I’m always finding something new. They have a great selection of organic products, like the organic ground beef I used for this recipe. In fact, just about everything for this pumpkin spice chili recipe was bought at ALDI. If it wasn’t, I already had it at home.
From the tomatoes to the spices to the fresh produce, I picked it up at ALDI and saved a bunch of money too!
See how much I love ALDI, I quickly get side tracked talking about all the great things I find there but I’ll save that for another post. For now, let’s get back to the recipe. This pumpkin chili is packed with flavor and the pumpkin compliments the spices perfectly.
I served our dinner in a bread bowl topped with a little cheddar cheese. If you want to avoid the bread, just serve in a regular bowl. It’s just as good and looks just as pretty.
This is the perfect fall comfort food recipe. It’s sure to be a hit with your family just like it was with mine.

PUMPKIN CHILI recipe is amazing. I never thought about using pumpkin in chili, but this makes this recipe really healthy with the pumpkin and beans. I am going to make this for dinner!

When you served in a bread bowl, I was converted completely. It already sounded good, but that's just so Fall.
