With just a few days until Thanksgiving, it seems my to-do list is getting longer and longer. My turkey is nowhere near being ready (it’s still frozen solid), an unexpected trip to the dentist pushed me a few hours behind schedule today and I still have to finish my shopping! It’s a never-ending cycle over here. Thankfully I have my desserts and sides covered so it’s a matter of dealing with my minor turkey emergency and making sure I have plenty of options for my pickiest eaters. It seems like every holiday there’s always one kid in attendance who only wants to eat the rolls. Well this year, they’re going to be in for a fun little surprise with these fun pumpkin shaped dinner rolls.
These pumpkin-shaped rolls are simple to make, cook in just a few minutes and you probably already have the things on hand to make them If not, a quick trip to the grocery store will take care of that.
You’ll need a few packs of Pillsbury Crescent Roll dough, some pretzels and that’s about it.
Roll out the crescent dough and separate into pieces.
Then take each piece and roll it into a ball.
Using a butter knife, make cuts around the ball almost to the bottom.
Using your finger, or grab the kids for this part, press your finger into the center to create a little cavity for the pretzel.
Bake according to package directions.
Remove from oven and let cool
Break pretzel sticks in half (another great project for the kids) and place in the middle of each pumpkin roll for the stem. I used honey-wheat pretzels since they were thicker and resembled a stem the most.
That’s it. An easy addition to your Thanksgiving table that only takes minutes to prepare and they look adorable!
