Recently, I headed up to the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Despite living in New Jersey my entire life, I’ve never been there before. Right next to the Prudential Center is a courtyard called Champions Plaza where Prudential and the Alliance for Lifetime Income hosted an event during Oktoberfest. I had a chance to be a part of the action, talk more with the Prudential team and learn more about what I can do as a woman to take steps now to protect my retirement.
Growing up, we didn’t travel. Aside from an occasional trip to the shore traveling was not something my family had any interest in. It wasn’t until I got older and had kids of my own did I realize what an important part of life traveling is.
Now I make it a priority, between our monthly road trip series and family vacations to places like Alaska, traveling is an important part of of life. I want to continue spending my life traveling and want my kids to grow up with wanderlust, wanting to explore anywhere their little hearts desire.
But I want them to learn to travel responsibly and within their budget. I want them to learn the importance of saving in order to fulfill their dream.
I also want to make sure I do the same. I want to make sure budget and save properly so that my husband and I can continue to travel well into our retirement with our kids and future grandkids.
With the cost of living increasing every year, rising healthcare costs and so much more, it’s more important than ever to make sure we’re planning for our future properly so we can continue to live the life we have now.
That’s where Prudential and the Alliance for Lifetime Income come in. In just a few short weeks, I’ve learned more about annuities, saving and retirement than I ever have thanks to simple tools and videos at retireyourrisk.org. Check it out for yourself and think about what your goals for retirement might be.
Truth be told, I thought our 401k, my husband’s pension and our savings would be enough. Now with everything that I’ve learned, I don’t think that is the case anymore. Especially with the fact that women on average are living 5-7 years longer than men.*
Women have unique challenges when it comes to retirement income planning. Prudential has the expertise and solutions to help solve these challenges.
This is something we need to plan for as women and make sure we protect our retirement. Learn more and what steps you can take by talking with a Prudential financial professional.
As women, we need to find ways to generate regular, reliable monthly income in retirement and not simply count on living off accumulated savings from 401(k)s, and other savings vehicles. Especially because we are living longer.

This is where annuities can help. They can help grow your initial assets while offering protected monthly income for the rest of your life that can fill a critical gap in your retirement funds.
What is an Annuity? An annuity is a series of payments made at regular intervals.
An annuity can help provide a guaranteed “paycheck” for life and a reliable source of income. Annuities can provide a safeguard when the market stumbles. They’re an income stream you can count on.
Prudential Annuities has the knowledge and solutions to fill a critical gap in retirement planning by supplementing savings, social security and investments.
