Our house is pretty obsessed with Star Wars. My husband and I grew up watching the movies and loved them since. We first showed the movies to our son when he was a baby and he quickly became a fan. Even the baby loves Star Wars thanks to her big brother. He still has his Star Wars™ toddler toys from he was a baby and he loves to bring them out to play with her. She carries the Darth Vader with her all over the house. We’ve done birthday parties, just because parties themed to Star Wars™ and my son even has his own Star Wars™ Christmas tree in his bedroom. So you might say we like the movie. We may even be a little excited for the new movie. Who am I kidding, we can’t wait! To hold us over until the release, we’ve been having Star Wars movie marathons on the weekends.
For a fun treat, last weekend I made this yummy sweet ‘n salty popcorn mix for our movie night complete with edible Tie Fighters!
I picked up popcorn, some of our favorite cereal (yes breakfast cereal isn’t just for breakfast around here) like Cinnamon Toast Crunch® and Cookie Crisp® to make these snacks.
They were so incredibly easy to make and I love how they turned out. I even made these cute BB-8 popcorn containers using these free printable BB-8 bookmarks. I just cut out the bookmark, and glued it on to the popcorn box.
- 3 Cups of Popcorn
- 1 Cup of Cinnamon Toast Crunch
- Chocolate Candy Wafers
- 1/4 Cinnamon Toast Crunch® Cereal
- 1/4 Cookie Crisp® Cereal
- Melted Candy Wafers
These were an absolute hit in our house and my son has requested that I make these again in two weeks for his birthday party since we’re having a – you guessed it – Star Wars party!
I paired them with some Go-Gurt® Star Wars™ Lightsabers for the perfect for our movie night.
To make your own delicious snack for your Star Wars™ fans pick up specially marked boxes of cereal from Walmart. Be sure to look for the boxes with the Star Wars™ theme, they come with a fun viewer toy for the kids to collect!
