When it comes to books and reading, my kids couldn’t be more different. Finding books my son is interested in and actually wants to read is definitely a challenge and always has been. My daughter on the other hand is the complete opposite. While she can’t read yet, she loves being read to and looking through books with pictures. When he was her age, he didn’t really care about reading the way she does. That carried over all through elementary school and even now. Motivating him to read is a challenge itself. So when I find books that are not only educational but ones he actually picks up on his own and wants to read, I like to shout it from the rooftops. That’s one of the reason’s we love National Geographic Kids books so much. He actually wants to read them and has built up quite the collection.
