Have you ever wanted a behind the scenes look at The National Dog Show Presented by Purina®? Here’s your chance!
When I think of Thanksgiving my thoughts immediately go to food. Once I get all the tasty dishes out of my head I start look forward to watching two of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions on TV, the Thanksgiving Day Parade and The National Dog Show presented by Purina®. I mean, what’s not to love about watching all those adorable dogs on tv. This year though, I did something even better! I had a chance to attend The National Dog Show in person thanks to Purina! When they invited us out, I immediately said yes. Being able to get a behind the scenes look at the dog show, seeing these beautiful dogs in person and hearing what special part of the family these dogs are to their owners was just priceless.
I know first hand just how special our pets are to us and seeing the joy these dogs brought their owners faces as they talked about their precious pets made me so happy.
Growing up I had a dog and two cats who made my childhood complete. Every memory I have as a child has to do with those pets and not a day goes by where I don’t think of them.
So I knew getting a pet for my own kids, was a must. The joy that a pet can bring to your family is like no other and adopting our two cats earlier this year was one of the best things we’ve done.
Even though they were older when we adopted them, they’ve blended into our family seamlessly and it feels like they’ve always been a part of our home.
After getting a chance to see so many adorable pooches getting ready for this big moment at The National Dog Show, my kids have doggie fever right about now and adding a puppy to our crew might be in our future.
Until then, we made sure to make friends with these cuties who you can see on TV during The National Dog Show presented by Purina®.
This Thanksgiving, Purina is inviting pet owners across the nation to share why they are thankful for their pet, using #DogThanking and tagging @Purina.
From November 9-25, for every unique post shared on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram that includes @Purina and #DogThanking, Purina will donate $1 (up to $25,000) to Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation Pets and Vets program.
This amazing program pairs trained shelter pets with veterans as they transition back to civilian life following their service.
I can’t think of a better or more simple way to give back this Thanksgiving! Just share a photo of your 4-legged friend and know that your photo is doing something great to help Vets!
Don’t forget to tune into the The National Dog Show Presented by Purina, Thanksgiving Day beginning at noon across the country and all time zones, immediately following the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
In case you missed it, the National Dog Show Presented by Purina will re-air on Saturday, November 24, on NBC from 8-10 p.m. ET.
