While there’s nothing wrong with that, sometimes you’re looking for a place that feels a little more magical – like a Treehouse!
That’s exactly what we found at Treehouse Grove at Norton Creek. Hidden just outside the excitement of Gatlinburg, Treehouse Grove offers something completely different – a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the Smokies from a whole new perspective. The moment we drove through the gates, it felt like we had discovered a secret village tucked deep into the forest.
And yes…….you really do get to sleep in a treehouse.
A Luxury Treehouse Experience
Forget everything you think you know about treehouses. These aren’t the tiny wooden forts you built as a kid.

If you’ve ever watched the show, you’ll recognize his signature style immediately. Every treehouse balances creativity with comfort, making you feel like you’re staying in something truly special rather than just another vacation rental.
The attention to detail is everywhere you look – from custom woodwork and thoughtful layouts to outdoor gathering spaces that invite you to slow down and enjoy your surroundings. My favorite spot was the separate screened-in patio.
I naturally wake up earlier than everyone else, so each morning I’d make my cup of coffee and just sit out there waiting for everyone else to wake up.

One of my favorite things about Treehouse Grove is its location. You’re only minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, but once you arrive, it feels like you’ve left the busy tourist areas completely behind.
That means you can spend the morning exploring Great Smoky Mountains National Park, grab lunch in Gatlinburg, ride your favorite mountain coaster, enjoy dinner downtown, and then return to your quiet treehouse retreat for the evening.
It’s truly the best of both worlds.
Relax Along Norton Creek
The property gets its name from the beautiful Norton Creek that winds through the grounds.
This quickly became one of our favorite places to unwind. The stillness of the resort makes it perfect for families looking for a quieter spot and couples who are looking to relax without the added noise.
There’s something incredibly relaxing about sitting beside flowing water after a busy day exploring the Smokies. The kids love walking the property looking for interesting rocks and watching butterflies.
It’s a reminder that sometimes the best vacation memories aren’t the biggest attractions – they’re the quiet moments you didn’t plan.
Gather Around the Fire
As the sun begins to set, Treehouse Grove takes on an entirely different atmosphere. String lights begin to glow, the forest becomes quiet, and families naturally gather around the community fire pits.
Roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, swapping stories about the day’s adventures, and watching the stars appear overhead quickly became one of our favorite nightly traditions.
In today’s busy world, those simple moments together often become the ones you remember most.
Perfect for Families
As a mom, I’m always looking beyond pretty photos. My first thought is always, “Is it actually a place families will enjoy?”
The answer here is absolutely yes.
Kids immediately fall in love with the idea of sleeping in a treehouse, but parents appreciate the comfort, cleanliness, and thoughtful design. The girls took over the loft bedroom upstairs and it was their own private retreat.

The girls learned about forest ecosystems, identifying native trees, they observes birds and wildlife unclose in their natural habitat, and experience firsthand how architecture can work with nature rather than against it.
It’s the perfect reminder that some of the best classrooms don’t have four walls.
Even families who don’t homeschool will find themselves slowing down, asking questions, and discovering the natural beauty surrounding them.
