Every morning I make a fresh smoothie with breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. My husband and I love drinking them and so do both of the kids. I started making fresh smoothies when my son was a baby as a way to get him to try new flavors and foods. Fresh smoothies were a staple during my last pregnancy and I’ve been making them daily since. The great thing about smoothies is the endless flavor combinations you can make. You can mix and match you favorite fruits and veggies for yummy flavors. One of my personal favorites is this Triple Berry Smoothie Recipe.

Both of my kids love all different kinds of fruits and eat them with no problem at all but it’s an extra special treat when we make a smoothie. I even hide veggies like carrots and fresh spinach in them and they don’t even think twice about it. But since it’s my diet that really could use an overhaul, I find drinking a smoothie with some egg whites for breakfast or even a midmorning snack  keeps me full and has me snacking less on things I don’t need to eat.

I pair this Triple Berry Smoothie with my daily vitamin to make sure I’m getting the best start each morning. After all, with chasing a toddler and homeschooling my oldest everyday I need to be me on my toes.

One of the easiest ways I’ve found to enjoy a fresh smoothie each morning is to create smoothie packs. These make ahead smoothie packs really simplify my life on busy mornings. Instead of washing fruit every morning, I just wash and prep them in bulk then place them into individual serving bags.

I keep them in a tray in the freezer so I can just grab one, throw it in the blender with some coconut milk, yogurt or orange juice and voila! Instant smoothie. The frozen fruit makes them so refreshing on a hot day.

It’s such a simple task that really saves time when I’m in a rush. Once the fruit is washed, I’ll arrange them in a tray and flash freeze them to prevent the berries from sticking together when I throw them in the freezer bags.

Once frozen, I portion them out (usually about a cup each depending on the recipe) into freezer bags in different flavor combinations.

This simple little hack saves me so much time on busy days. Since everything is already washed and ready to go, all I have to decide is which flavor I want.

I can simply grab a smoothie pack, toss it in the blender and in minutes I have a delicious smoothie ready for me and the whole family to enjoy. Typically I add spinach to all my smoothies and since I always have fresh spinach on hand, it’s the one thing I don’t flash freeze, I just add that in fresh.

Triple Berry Smoothie

Triple Berry Smoothie Recipe

  • 1 cup of strawberries
  • 1 cup of blueberries
  • 1 cup of pineapple
  • 1 cups baby spinach
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1 tbsp. flax seed
  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth. Pour in glass and enjoy.

While these fruit smoothies provide me with a lot of vitamins and nutrients, they don’t provide everything my body needs so I pair one with a vitamin every morning. I have an aversion to swallowing pills, especially anything oversized. So for me a vitamin that I can chew and has a great flavor are the way to go. Centrum Vitamints are vitamins you enjoy like a mint and they’re now available in a great raspberry flavor. If it isn’t already obvious I love raspberries and they’re always in my smoothies. Now I can enjoy my favorite flavor in my vitamin as well.  I really love  that the container can fit in my purse. Since you enjoy the Vitamints like a mint, I can take them on the go with me.

Centrum Vitamints & MultiGummies are the easiest way for me to make sure I take my vitamin daily without worrying about struggling to swallow them.

I picked mine up at Walgreens on the vitamins aisle. Right now when you buy your vitamins at Walgreens, you can feel extra good about your purchase. Walgreens has partnered with the Vitamin Angels and they’re “Get Vitamins Here, Change Lives Everywhere” campaign. With every purchase of vitamins, Walgreens will make a donation to Vitamin Angels.

Yum! I like that adult vitamins come in gummies now! Your idea on how to pre-prep smoothies is genius! I make my kids breakfast every morning at 6:30 a.m., so I would love to try your method!
