Lately I’ve been in a chocolate mood so when I needed to come up with an idea for our annual Memorial Day picnic  this year I new I wanted to make something easy and delicious but it had to be chocolate and caramel. TWIX® Bites were perfect for what I wanted.

While I was in Walmart picking up some other snacks, I wondered down the candy aisle to grab some TWIX® Bites. If you haven’t seen these yet, you need to check them out. Mars candy bars now come in bite sized pieces! Perfect for snacking on the go, desserts and so much more.

During my visit, they even had an in-store demonstration where we got to sample the TWIX® Bites and we even got a coupon to save on our purchase! Love saving money when I wasn’t expecting it! Don’t worry – I even have a coupon to share with you so you can try these yummy TWIX® Bites for yourself! Check it out at the after the recipe.

After I grabbed my TWIX® Bites on the candy aisle, I picked up some chocolate cake mix, whipped topping and headed home to try my dessert idea. I decided to make TWIX® Chocolate Cupcake Parfaits for the adults and for the kiddies I made Mini Chocolate TWIX® Cupcakes.

They were super easy to make and I love how cute they came out in the jar for serving.  Here is what you’ll need to make your own:

  • Mason Jars for serving
  • Your favorite chocolate cupcake mix – You can used a mix or from scratch. I went with a mix since I needed to save some time but either would be just as delicious.
  • Whipped topping – again homemade or store bought will work fine. I went with store bought.
  • TWIX® Bites
Step 1: Bake cupcakes per directions. When they are done remove from pan and let cool. Once they are cool, slice them in half. You will need 3 sliced pieces of cupcakes for each parfait.

Step 2: Grab a handful of TWIX® Bites and chop them up in a food processor. You’ll use this between the layers and as a topping.

Step 3: Fill Jars and layer until full. Start with a cupcake slice on the bottom, pipe on whipped cream, sprinkle with crushed TWIX® Bites. Repeat until full.
Once the jar is full, top with more whipped cream, crushed TWIX® and 2 whole TWIX® Bites.
For the kids, I thought this dessert was too large for them. They like small and simple. So when I made the cupcakes, I made a batch of mini cupcakes as well. I simply topped them with whipped cream, some crushed TWIX® and one TWIX® Bite.  Perfectly sized for little hands and mouths.
