Here your rep can really show you how to work your remote, apps and talk you through any questions you may have all at your own personal station. Now you can try out what they tell you so you fully understand how things work.

There’s even a bill paying station to quickly pay your bill.

X1 PLATFORM

We switched to over the summer XFINITY X1 and I couldn’t be happier with our service but I knew I wasn’t using it to it’s full potential. This gave me a chance to really learn what thesystme can do and how we can better tailor it to our family needs. I already knew I could search for movies by title, actor, genres and even by director.

I learned about the sports app for my husband. Simply say “sports” into the remote and it breaks down sports by NFL, NBA, MLB , etc. Now my sports loving family can see stats, team standings, the roster and so much more.

The Kids Zone is one of my favorite features on the whole platform. With two kids at home it’s a safe spot where I don’t have to worry about what they’re watching. Everything is free so no surprise ordering of shows by my two year old. Shuffle play is great for when I’m working with my oldest on an assignment. Shuffle play will automatically play episodes so I don’t have to stop to put on a new one each time.

Let’s talk about Netflix. I’m new to Netflix and now it’s completely integrated into the X1 Platform.  I signed up for Netflix right through my tv and it was super easy. Now we can easily watch our favorite shows on Netflix right through the X1 platform with a steady connection.

Watchable is a new feature that displays what shows are trending right now. You can search the top 100 shows.

XFINITY APPS

Every Xfinity product has an app. My favorites were:

XFINITY TV App – There are two modes one to connect to in your hoen with wifi and another for outside your home. You can watch live TV, on demand and any of your purchased content fight from your tablet. Since we do a lot of traveling and spend a lot of time on the road, I can download my kids favorite movies and shows right to their tablet and they can stay entertained with their favorite shows without using the internet. This may be my favorite feature and I can’t wait to use it.

XFINITY My Account App – This self-service app lets you control your account from anywhere, anytime. You can easily see local stores, talk to a rep, get a new box, pay your bill and even troubleshoot your account. It even knows your wifi password if you forget it. I do this all. the. time.  Now I can just look it up in the app. No more fumbling through papers trying to remember where I wrote that darn password down. I can even text friends and family my wifi password right from the app. This is great for parties. On the rare occasion that your system may need a reboot, you can reboot, troubleshoot and start your system back up in minutes.

XFINITY TV Remote App – This is a great app to control your TV from outside the home. If you forget to record your favorite show or movie or you’re out with friends and they mention a show you just have to watch, you can simply pull it up on your phone and set it to record.

XFINITY Wifi App – Did you know there are over 15 million hotspots on the XFINITY network out there. A big chunk of those hotspots are right here in the Philadelphia area and you can find them all and access them easily with the app.

XFINITY Connect App  – This is Xfinity’s voice product app. You can set it up to forward call from your home phone right to your tablet or phone. My favorite feature from this app was the virtual phone numbers. You can get a max of 4 per account and the number only exists on the internet. You assign each number with a name, connect the app with each use and you have a phone number for texts and more. This is great for the kids who don’t have their own phone. Assign them a virtual number and they can use hot spots to sent and receive text messages without the need for a data connection.

XFINITY HOME

The Xfinty Home options are really blew me away. Staying connected to your home is now easier than ever with Xfinity. Most people sign up for the Xfinty Home features for 3 reasons:

• Remote Video Monitoring – From anywhere in the world, you can simply pull out your phone and watch your home. You can set alerts so you know whoever a door opens and
• Security – Xfinity home gives you piece of mind. With real time text emails and 15 second video clips from the camera. You’ll know when someone enters your home and you’ll know exactly who it is.
• Control Interior Features  – You can control your lights, door locks, thermostat and more right from your smart phone, tablet and Xfinity.com. You can remotely change the temperature if you forgot to turn the heat on. They even have plugs that you can use to control anything from your coffee maker to your curling iron.

I’ve had to turn around and come home way to many times when I couldn’t remember if I turned my curling iron off. Now I can just access my app and turn it off right from there! Genius.
