Football Coasters

Living with two football fanatics means weekends during football season are busy watching games with family and friends. Sometimes it’s just a few friends over and others are full blown parties. If multiple games are on, we’ll have some guests in the family room and others in the living room. With food and drinks all over, I wanted to create something to protect my furniture while still fitting with the football party theme. So these football coasters were the perfect craft to protect my furniture while looking cute doing it.

Football Coasters

To go along with our party this weekend, I made a bunch of these football turf coasters in minutes.  This is such an easy craft that’ll really make your next football party look adorable!

Here’s what you’ll need to make them:

  • Piece of green turf (I bought a long piece to use for another project coming soon)
  • White Paint
  • Duck tape or pieces of felt
  • Paintbrush
Cut a square of green turf (I found mine in the flooring section of my local home improvement store.) into four coaster sized pieces.

I wanted to use felt to line the back of them but the baby had other plans for the felt and it left me with figuring out something else. So I went with duck tape instead. Since the back is a little rough, I wanted to line it with something so they don’t scratch the table. This worked perfectly. If you have felt squares, just clue them to the back.

Next I painted the lines on them along with the yard line numbers.

Once they were dry, they made the perfect coasters for game day. I can’t wait to use them.

They’d even make a great hostess gift if you’re going to someone’s house to watch the game!

Which brings me back to my party plans for this weekend. I can’t wait to debut my new coasters and they’ll go perfect with my menu for the day.

When I was doing some shopping at Sam’s club the other day, I remembered I didn’t lay out the chicken I was planning on making for dinner. So I needed a plan b and quick.

I was hungry so I knew the rest of the family was too. It was almost dinner time by the time we were done and the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was figure out a new dinner plan and then cook it.

That’s when I remembered the awesome deal at Sam’s Club Cafe. For $13.98 I picked up a large 16 in. pizza, cheesy breadsticks, chocolate chunk cookies and a two liter Coke. Score!
Dinner was solved and I didn’t have to cook. The pizza was already cooked for me, so all I had to do was go home and eat! Everything was so good, it’s hard to believe it was so easy.

Football Coasters

This is such a great option for game day! We’re having friends over this weekend and I know exactly what I’m serving. I’m picking up a few of these meals so dinner is solved. You can never go wrong with pizza.

What would you do with the time you saved by not cooking and picking up one of these game day meals for your family?

I love these. Such a cute way to make a party with the turf coasters. With the extra time, I would spend the time hanging out with my girls.

Okay, those are adorable and so easy to make! I would love to make some of these football coasters for my aunt. She is a huge football fan. Thanks for the idea!

Those turf coasters look awesome! Where do you but that kind of material? I don't think I've ever seen something like that in any craft stores but then again, I never had to look for it! ;) Btw, we LOVE Sam's Club Cafe! Sometimes we'll visit Sam's club just for lunch!
