As soon as the weather breaks and the weather gets the slightest bit warm, we start grilling outside. Most nights dinner is on the grill. There’s just something about grilling our food that we love plus it’s nice to not have to heat up the house by cooking with the stove or oven. Grilled chicken is a family favorite so it’s something I cook often. I’m always looking for ways to switch it up and add more flavors into our dinners. These sweet & spicy grilled chicken drumsticks were exactly what I was looking for. They were easy, delicious and are going into regular rotation on our menu plan.

I also love easy recipes. With two kids running around, some nights I just don’t have to spend forever in the kitchen. These chicken drumsticks were an easy recipe (yay for that). And so full of flavor that everyone came back for seconds and thirds.

My secret for the amazing flavor behind these was the new KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix and Dry Rub. It’s a dry rub that can be used to season meat or turned into a delicious barbecue  sauce when you add liquid. By adding different liquids, you can customize the flavor combinations. For this  recipe I used Simply Lemonade®, Coca-Cola de Mexico and some hot sauce for a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce.

First I marinaded the chicken drumsticks in the dry rub. Then grilled them on all sides.

During the last five minutes of grilling, I brushed on plenty of the sweet and spicy barbecue sauce made from the same dry rub.

I let that cook on for about five more minutes and they were ready to eat.

I served them with some corn on the cob and some of our favorite drinks like Coca-Cola and Simply Lemonade® (which also doubled as ingredients for the barbecue sauce).

Making the barbecue sauce is really easy to make too.

In a bowl, I mix one packet of the powder, a little lemonade, the coca-cola and some hot sauce. Once it’s mixed well, I let it sit for a few minutes while the chicken cooked to thicken up.

Oh so yummy! What I love about the KC Masterpiece® BBQ Sauce Mix & Dry Rub is the different flavor combinations you can create. I went with a sweet and spicy but with a quick twist on ingredients you can have totally different flavor combinations to customize your meal to your tastes.

I picked up everything I needed for this recipe at my local Sam’s Club. I love that I can grab everything I need for a night of entertaining in one spot. The Simple Lemonade® was not only perfect for the sweet and spicy barbecue sauce but it was the perfect drink to cool off with on this hot weekend. I also love this all-natural lemonade has no added preservatives, colors or artificial flavors.

Everything about this recipe turned out yummy and delicious and these grilled chicken drumsticks were definitely a hit. Now I can’t wait to try other recipes using the  KC Masterpiece and Coca-Cola products. Be sure to check them out at Sam’s Club.
