Luxury & Comfort Meet at The Loews Philadelphia Hotel

Thank you to the Loews Philadelphia Hotel for hosting us during our stay.

One of the things I really wanted to accomplish this summer was to get out and explore. I wanted to do more than just relax by the pool or stay home. While those days are great and we need them too, I really wanted to do more. Living here in New Jersey, we’re right in the middle of so much action and fun. With New York City, Philadelphia and so much more within driving distance to us, I knew I had to plan more fun days out exploring all the great things around us. After our trip to Baltimore earlier this summer, Philadelphia was up next on our list. We only live a short drive away from the city and can easily drive in and out but I didn’t want to have to worry about driving home, beating traffic and all that jazz. I wanted to stay in the city to really explore everything it has to offer. So the four of us headed to the Loews Philadelphia Hotel for a few days of fun. Once we arrived, I’ll be honest, we didn’t want to leave.

Getting there couldn’t have been easier. Driving through the city can be a challenge sometimes but the Loews Philadelphia is right in the middle of all the action. We parked (parking garage is onsite) and walked through the connecting lobby to head to check in. We wanted to drop off our bags and get settled before we headed out into the city. Once we saw the rooms, we almost wanted to cancel our plans and order room service instead.

The room was huge with plenty of space for the four of us. Sometimes hotels can get a little cramped with two kids who like to run around, but not here. My son claimed the desk and set up his Nintendo DSI accessories while my husband immediately claimed the comfy chair. Seriously, he didn’t want to get up!

I won’t even talk about how the kids found the minibar and basically went crazy! It’s the first hotel, we’ve stayed in with them that had a minibar full of snacks. My oldest thought he was in heaven (until I actually explained how a minibar works).

Once I let that disappoint sink in with him, we headed out to do a little sightseeing before dinner. These two are attached at the hip, despite their age difference. She follows him around everywhere he goes and he loves every minute of her attention.

When we arrived back in our room we were surprised with a delicious bowl of fresh fruit and a plate of the most amazing chocolate chip cookies. As soon as we walked in the little one spotted the cookies and made a beeline for the table. Her day was made. There nothing better than a delicious chocolate chip cookie after a tiring day, especially for a toddler.

The bathroom was clean and huge. I really enjoyed the extra space in here. Hotel bathrooms can be a tad small and I always feel cramped when I’m getting ready. Having the extra space really made a difference.

The views from the rooms were amazing. Our room had huge windows over looking the city over the bed and over by the desk. The views during the day and at night were simply stunning.

ALL ABOUT THE HOTEL

Located in the nation’s first skyscraper, the Loews Philadelphia Hotel combines history with luxury for even the most expensive tastes. Whether you’re traveling alone or with family, Loews Philadelphia Hotel offers you the perfect place to stay right in the middle of all the action. There’s an onsite valet parking garage and rates $49 for overnight parking. If you’re planning on driving around the city, it’s easy to grab your car before you head out. There’s a fitness center, pool (sadly we didn’t get a chance to enjoy) and a restaurant onsite. The hotel offers Wi-Fi in the rooms and public spaces.

Overall I give this hotel a 5-star rating. Everyone was so nice and personable. The room was immaculate and having a little one who is into everything, that’s important. The bed and pillows were some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. Plus the location is amazing. Minutes from plenty of area attractions, you’re really right in the middle of it all. Whether you walk, take public transportation or drive, you’re only minutes away.

There was so much more we didn’t get a chance to explore in the city and we’re already planning a trip back. I definitely be staying at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel again and we can’t wait!
