Thank you to Morey’s Piers for hosting our family.
One of the most important decisions I make when it comes to our trips is where to stay. There are so many deciding factors and while it may only be a place to stay on vacation, when you’re traveling with kids it really can make or break your trip. For us, the hotel room needs to meet a few certain criteria to know if it’ll work for our family. That’s why we loved our stay at the Pan American Hotel when we visited Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, New Jersey.
I know people will say a hotel is just a hotel. You’re only sleeping there. But when you traveling with kids, especially kids that are almost ten years apart, they both have different needs and wants so I look for these five things to make sue it’s going to be a fit.
SPACE
If I’m traveling by myself, space isn’t my biggest issue. As long as I have a comfy bed (preferably king size), a bathroom and some other basics, I’m good. When I’m traveling with the kids, it’s another story. We need our space y’all. Especially with a teenager and an almost threenager (my toddler who definitely acts like a teenager).
We all need our space to unwind and relax and it sometimes poses a challenge. I don’t want to necessarily pay for a suite, but I want to make sure we have enough room to be comfortable.
Our room had two queen size beds and a futon bed that the teen immediately claimed for himself.
DINING ON SITE
This is an important one for my family. The kids are always so much happier when they’ve had a chance to eat breakfast before we start our day. When we travel, I always look for hotels that have dining options on site.
Alosi’s is attached to The Pan American Hotel and offers a delicious breakfast to kick start your day.
Seriously just look at these waffles and pancakes. Not only were they huge, they were so delicious. Both of the kids couldn’t wait to get downstairs for breakfast. Honestly, neither could I. It was so yummy!
HOTEL ACTIVITIES
Another thing I like to look at is what the hotel offers if there a rainy day, we get stuck inside or the things to do when we want to just sit around and relax at the hotel.
The Pan American Hotel offered a great sized heated outdoor pool, a nice patio area with a fire (hello s’mores), a little arcade downstairs, a public park across the street with basketball hoops for the older kids, and an easy to get to beach front location.
LOCATION
Location is important. Especially when you’re traveling with a toddler. You don’t want to be too far away from the attractions you’re going to see. The Pan American Hotel was the perfect spot for us. It was easy to get to the beach and a short drive or even walk from all the action up on the boardwalk.
AFFORDABILITY
Price is another important factor. I truly believe you get what you pay for and those too good to be true advertisements can be just that. The Pan American offers great, family friendly accommodations at an affordable price.
Overall we were extremely impressed with our stay and cannot wait to go back. If you’re looking for a family friendly hotel in Wildwood, New Jersey, I highly recommend The Pan American Hotel. I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and staff.
What are some of the things you look for in a family friendly hotel?

What a great hotel! When I'm traveling with my family, I definitely look for similar things. But affordability, cleanliness, and location would have to be my top 3.

We've never been to New Jersey, but will certainly keep this property in mind if we ever do!
