This post, 5 Reasons the Hilton Garden Inn Hershey is Perfect for Families, is in partnership with the Hershey Harrisburg Visitors Bureau.
October is one of my favorite months of the year. I love the cooler temperatures, the changing leaves and everything about fall, especially Halloween. My kids have been asking to go back to Hersheypark and since we’ve never been during Halloween, I thought it was the perfect time for a last minute getaway. There’s no shortage of hotels in the Hershey Harrisburg area and for this trip, we enjoyed a stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Hershey. Traveling with a toddler and a teenager means I need to make sure our hotel rooms are big for all of us, are central to the area we’re visiting and bonus points for a pool and free breakfast. This hotel had all of that. Here are 5 Reasons the Hilton Garden Inn Hershey is Perfect for Families.
I know first hand how hard it is to find the perfect hotel for your trip. Granted you may only use your room to sleep and you’ll be busy exploring the destination but it still needs to be comfortable for your family.
LARGE ROOMS
With my kids being almost 10 years apart, if we’re not staying in a suite, the room needs to be a decent size so they each have their own space without feeling cramped. We had a room with two queen beds
The rooms were super clean, the beds were comfortable and overall enjoyed it for the short time we were there. Most of our days were spent out exploring which made having a comfortable area to rest at night even more important and the rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn Hershey were perfect for that.
CLOSE TO AREA ATTRACTIONS
The hotel’s central location is one thing that really appealed to us. The Hilton Garden Inn Hershey is only 2 miles away from the Hershey area attractions, within walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants and only a short drive to other attractions like Indian Echo Caverns and the city of Harrisburg. I wanted to make sure we stayed close to the attractions we were planning to visit to minimize the time we spent driving to and from.
DINING
There is definitely no shortage of delicious dining options in the Hershey area. Usually I’m not the biggest fan of hotel breakfasts and their dining options but the Hilton Garden Inn Hershey has a delicious breakfast that has something for everyone on the menu. From delicious omelets, waffles and pancakes to a cereal bar, there really is something for everyone in your family. But most importantly, it’s delicious.
There’s a variety of juices and sodas available as well as coffee and milk. It was nice heading downstairs to a breakfast that I knew everyone would be happy with so we could eat before we headed out for our daily adventures.
FREE PARKING
Since we’re driving in, a hotel with free parking was a must. I didn’t want to pay extra for something like this. There were plenty of parking spaces so even when we came back late, we still had a spot. There is no valet parking but truthfully it’s not something we would have used even if they had it.
For check in and drop off, you can pull right up front to unload your car so you don’t have to carry your bags through the lot.
HOTEL AMENITIES
Now we didn’t have time to use any of these but I know they are important to a lot of people so it’s definitely worth mentioning the hotel has a gym and heated indoor pool if you want a place to relax after your day exploring or if you just want to schedule a pool day.
For parents, they have playpens, cribs and highchairs available if needed.
Overall, we loved our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Hershey and would highly recommend a stay here. The rooms were comfy, the breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect for exploring the Hershey area.
