3 Ingredient Patriotic Popcorn Recipe
Make this simple, 3 ingredient Patriotic Popcorn the star of your July 4th celebration.
I don’t know about you but July 4th really snuck up on me this year. In fact, this whole summer seems to be flying by. With the July 4th holiday only a few days away, I’m putting the final touches on our annual July 4th cookout but I already know one recipe that will be making it’s annual appearance – Patriotic Popcorn. This crowd pleasing snack for the kids has kids and adults alike coming back for more. The festive colors look great on any table setting and the sweet and salty combination is one everyone will love. This patriotic popcorn is one of my go-to July 4th recipes. With just three ingredients, red and blue candy melts and popcorn, it’s almost to simple not to make. Plus this Patriotic Popcorn is so festive it’s hard not to love it.
I typically make it the morning of our July 4th cookout or sometimes the night before depending on how busy I am the day of and how many other recipes I need to make. But it’s one of those recipes that really only take ten minutes top to make so it can be one of the last recipes made.
Did I also mentions it’s so easy to make? It really is. You just need some popcorn (microwave popcorn, kernels you pop on the stove or bags of already popped popcorn), some red and blue candy melts, and some white sprinkles (optional).
In 2 large bowls you’ll add about six cups of popped popcorn. In another small bowl the red and the blue candy melts. Follow the instructions on the bag to melt the candy then pour it over the popcorn. Repeat for the other color.
Then pour the candy coated popcorn onto a cookie sheet lined with foil or wax paper. Sprinkle with white sprinkles. Let sit for 10-15 minutes for the candy harden or place trays in the fridge to speed up the process.
That’s it. You’re left with a patriotic popcorn recipe that looks as good as it tastes.
I like to set it out as a snack for the kids and adults to grab throughout the day.
It would even make great party favors. Scoop some of the colorful Patriotic Popcorn into single serving containers or bags, tie with a cute ribbon and bam! Delicious party favors any guest would love to take home.
Try this Patriotic Popcorn at your next bash and let me know how you like it!
